biethren"The Health of the W . M . " The brethren , both in the Kintore and out of it , knew that their VV . M . was a brother most enthusiastic in Masonry , and most painstaking , and ready to do all in his power for the good of Freemasonry , and he could only say that if his ( the W . M . ' s ) health be spared the success of the Kintore Lodge would be assured during the ensuing year .

The W . M . said : I thank you for drinking my health , and I only hope I may enjoy that good health you all so cordially wish me to have . If 1 do I shall spend it in endeavouring to make you as happy as I possibly can while I preside over the lodge . My accession to the chair of the Kintore Lodge will serve still further to mark what is to me an interesting year of my life .

Bro . Neville , P . M . said : The next toast has been entrusted to me , and it is one which is always of interest in the Kintore Mark Lodge , his'The Installing Master . " All of you know how well the principal part of the ceremony was performed by Bro . Voisey , and all must have been greatly impressed by the eloquent manner in which the addresses were afterwards given by Bro . Marshall .

Bro . Voisey said : I am very much obliged to Bro . Neville for the kind things he has said about me for the services rendered by me to-night . I think it is about seven years ago you did methe honour of electing me an honorary member of the lodge , and I should be ungrateful , indeed , if I did not at any time my services were required give them most reely .

bro . Marshall also expressed his willingness as a P . M . to at any time perform any duty he was called upon to do . The W . M . then proposed "The Health of the Past Masters and Treasurer and Secretary , " adding that in the Kintore as in other lodges the Past Masters were whenever called upon ready to assist the officers in every possible way . Bro . Newington Bridges , in responding to the very

handsome way in which this toast had been proposed and received , said : I beg to thank you . I suppose Past Masters may be likened to the corner-stone of a building they have helped to bind the building together , and it is expected they will be the right stones in the right p lace . The VV . M . has been good enough to entrust me with what in Freemasonry we generally consider the toast of the evening— " The Health

of the Advancee , Bro . Dr . Adams . It is a source of very sincere regret to me that I was not present to see the ceremony of advancement , because I know that in the hands to which it was entrusted it would be thoroughly performed . Bro . Adams will find a great deal in this Degree to interest him , and I trust in due time he will work through the various offices to the position which our VV . M . occupies

tonight . Bro . Adams said : I thank you for the way in which you have responded to this toast . I am sure f have been very much impressed with the ceremony this evening , and I shall endeavour to follow the advice of Bro . N . Bridges and try to qualify myself for the various offices in the Degree .

'Ihe Worshipful Master here made a slight innovation by proposing "The Health of the VV . C . N . of the Royal Ark Mariners' Lodge and his Officers , " and spoke of the success which attended this Ark lodge , and the pleasure it had given the members to elevate at their last meeting two such distinguished brethren as Bros . Lieut .-Col . Bircham and Bowles , the Prov . G . Treas . and Sec . for Surrey .

In the absence of Bro . VV . Brandt , W . C . N ., who had been compelled to leave at an early hour , the toast was replied to by the Chaplain , Bro . Finlay , who said he had from time to time marvelled that the Degree should be so remote in the minds and desires of many Mark Masons , but hoped this would quickly become a thing of the past . All being well , on the 15 th July next , he hoped to lay the

foundation-stone of the new church , and as that would be an ark in its way , he was about to apply for dispensation - for thc use of Masonic clothing on that occasion , and cordially invited the members of the Kintore Lodge to be present . " The Visitors " was proposed by Bro . Marshall , who , in the name of the W . M ., extended a hearty welcome to the

brethren of the Southwark Lodge , with whom the Kintore Lodge had been so closely allied since its formation . Bro . Donaldson suitably responded . The W . M . then proposed the toast of "The Officers , " speaking in complimentary terms of the efficiency displayed by all . The toast was enthusiastically received .

Bro . N . Bridges , in replying , thanked the W . M . for the manner in which the toast had been proposed and received , and , as senior Past Master in the lodge , it was a matter of sincere gratification to him to see the lodge in its present nourishing condition . It had been the constant endeavour of the officers of the lodge to perform the ceremony in as perfect a manner as possible , and for this they were all

much indebted to Bro . Voisey , the Preceptor of the Kintore Mark Lodge of Instruction , for the valuable assistance he had rendered them . The Tyler's toast brought to a close a very enjoyable evening . 'Ihe musical arrangements were admirably carried out under the direction of Bro . Sidney Hill .
