H . designate then delivered thc annual address , which dealt most exhaustively with all matters of interest to thc Provincial Grand Chapter , and which we regret
the space at our disposal will not admit of reproducing in these columns . E . Comp . H . T . E . HOLMES , P . Z . 139 , then , as Treasurer , presented his Cash Account for the year , and pointed out the satisfactory condition ol
thc balance , there being £ 210 13 s . Sd . in the bank to the credit of Prov G . Chapter . This being accepted , Comp . HOLMES then proposed " That E . Comp Fred Rand , P . Z . 242 , be elected Treasurer for the ensuing year . "

IEVV , Grand Superintendent ( who was seated in an invalid's chair ) , previous to distributing thc collars , said how thankful he was to thc true and ever living God Most High to be so far restored to health that he was able to be present at the convocation ; how deeply he felt thc abundant sympathy and consideration which he had received from
his numerous Masonic friends ; that he could not sit quietly there without at least saying that much , and that he trusted that Royal Arch Masonry would continue to advance and progress until it had permeated the whole province of W . Yorkshire . After alluding to the acquisition of a site and the probable erection of a new Masonic Hall in Pontefract , which was most needful , he proceeded personally to invest the officers appointed , addressing

The Provincial Grand Chapter having been opened , the minutes of the last convocation were taken as read and confirmed . The annual balance-sheet was then read , which having been audited and found correct , was unanimously adopted . The GRAND SUPERINTENDENT returned thanks for the invitation , which he had much pleasure in accepting .
The GRAND SUPERINTENDENT then addressed the Prov . Grand Chapter as follows : Excellent Companions , I cannot conclude the business of this , our Annual Convocation , without expressing the pleasure I feel , after an absence of four years , on again meeting you in such a large assembly . 1 must express my most hearty and sincere thanks to the Provincial Grand Officers who , during my absence on official duties , carried on the affairs of
the Province so well and successfully . I feel that the prosperity of our Province has not been due to myself , but to those who have given their time and services to its best interests . I shall hope to attend Provincial Grand Lodge at Beverley , on the 5 th July next ; the meeting will be interesting as occurring during the Centenary year of thc Constitutional
Lodge , and I trust to be supported by a numerous attendance of brethren . I must not omit to offer , on behalf of myself and Provincial Grand Chapter , our best thanks to the officers and members of thc Britannia Chapter for their hospitality , and excellent arrangements for our reception in this beautiful hall . Wc always look forward to visiting Whitby , and invariably
enjoy a happy and successful meeting here . Thc Provincial Grand Chapter was then closed . An excellent banquet , at which the Grand Superintendent presided , was subsequently served at the Crown Hotel , and thc customary loyal and Masonic toasts duly honoured .
