T . Durkin , T . Hincs P . M . 's ; also a largo gathering of members . The Lodgo being opened , the minutes of tho previous meeting were confirmed . Bro . W . Chalk J . Tho ceremony which was ably performed by tho W . M ., was rendered still more

M . elect was presented , and tho ceremony of installation was performed . ohair of K . S . Having been saluted and most cordially greeted by tho Past Masters , the brethren wero admitted and sainted their W . M . in the several degrees . Tho installing Master delivered tho addresses to tho W . M ., Wardens and brethren . The Officers wero then appointed for the ensuing year . The W . M ., and in a feeling manner said what
pleasure it gave him to place the splendid jewel on his breast which the Lodge had presented him in recognition of his services . Bro . Carr briefly returned thanks . The W . Finney P . Z . when the rest of
the Comps . were admitted , and the minutes read and confirmed . This being the Convocation for the election of Principals and other Officers for the ensuing year , the ballot was taken respectively , and with the following result : —John Bowes Z ., Thos . in due form with prayer , when the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge being opened in the second degree , the W . M ., in the name of the Lodge , asked Bro . John Bowes to take the chair as Installing Master . The W . M . elect , tbe Rev . Thos . Lunt , was then presented for the benefit of installation , aud fcho first part of the ceremony being completed , tho Lodgo was
opened in the third degree . The Installing Master theu requested Bros . McGill aud Makin to take tho Vfardens' chairs , and tho collars and jewels being collected , all below the degree of Installed Masters , except the W . M . elect , retired . Bro . Rev . Thomas Lunt being entrusted , retired , aud a Board of Installed Masters was opened in ample form , the W . M . elect was admitted ancl installed in the chair of
K . S ., according to ancient custom . After the usual greetings , salutation , and proclamation by the W . Brethren , the Lodgo was called off , and tho cement properly applied . Labour resumed , tho Board was closed , and the brethren of the several degrees re-admitted , and the usual greetings , salutations , proclamations , and presentations made . The W . M . then nominated and invested his Officers for the
ensuing year , each of whom was addressed by the Installing Master , and subsequently the ancient addresses to the Master , Wardens and brethren were delivered by the same brother . The ceremony being completed , Bro . G . W . Latham said thoy were deeply indebted to Bro . Bowes for tho able manner in which ho had worked the ceremony , and the earnest impressiveness in which ho had conveyed tho
great Masonic truths of their ritual . Ho proposed that the thanks of the Lodge be accorded to him , and begged him to believe that he suggested no empty compliment . The vote was carried by acclamation , ancl Bro . Bowes having suitably responded , tho remainder of the business was completed , the Locige closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banqueting room , where an abundance of good
things awaited them . Gruce alter meat being said , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . We were much impressed by the earnest dignity with whioh the W . M . conducted the proceediugs , and the clear and intelligent exposition he gave of Masonio principles . In proposing the Installing Master's health , he acknowledged his deep obligations to Bro . Bowes , and paid a high compli . ment to that brother with respect to his rendering of the beautiful
ceremony of installation . Iu responding to the toast—The Visitors—Bro . Buxton said he did not remember spending a more pleasant day than he had on this occasion . He did not know which most pleased him , whether the installation ceremony or the utterances of the W . M . With both he had been delighted , and felt , greafcly indebted to Bro . Gilbert for inviting him . The Tyler ' s toasfc was proposed aboufc nine , and the brethren separated in harmony , well pleased with the day ' s proceedings .

M . lor the following Friday , when the third
