Royal Jubilee Lodge , No . 72 . —Tho installation meeting of thia old and flourishing Lodgo was held at Anderton ' s Hotel , on Monday , 6 th inst . There were present Bros . W . Carr W . M ., F . Duuu SAV ., J . Daun P . M . as J . W ., C . Chesterton S . D ., A . Darch J . D ., F . Thurston I . G ., H . Webb P . M . ancl Treasurer , J . Nunn P . M . and Sec , E . Dodson P . M . D . C , J . N . Bate W . S . ; C . Rhodes , J . Laskoy ,

T . Durkin , T . Hincs P . M . 's ; also a largo gathering of members . The Lodgo being opened , the minutes of tho previous meeting were confirmed . Bro . W . Chalk J . W . 1558 was elected a rejoining member . There were five gentlemen for initiation , viz . —Messrs . J . Morris , J . J . James , J . V . Shephard , J . W . Brannd aud D . Woolf . Tho ceremony which was ably performed by tho W . M ., was rendered still more

effective by solemn and appropriate music . The Locige was opened iu the second degree by the installing Master Bro . J . Nunn P . M ., and Bro . F . Dnnn S . W . W . M . elect was presented , and tho ceremony of installation was performed . The brethren having beeu requested to withdraw , a board , consisting of twenty-six installed Masters , was formed , when Bro . F . Dunn was duly and solemnly placed in the

ohair of K . S . Having been saluted and most cordially greeted by tho Past Masters , the brethren wero admitted and sainted their W . M . in the several degrees . Tho installing Master delivered tho addresses to tho W . M ., Wardens and brethren . The Officers wero then appointed for the ensuing year . The W . After tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts wero given , and enthnsiastically received , the I . P . M . proposed the health of the W . M ., wishing him a prosperous and harmonious year of office , to which tho W . M . replied in a few appropriate remarks . At the conclusion lie gave the health of the I . P . M ., and in a feeling manner said what

pleasure it gave him to place the splendid jewel on his breast which the Lodge had presented him in recognition of his services . Bro . Carr briefly returned thanks . The W . M . then gave the Initiates , which was responded to by each . The Visitors was responded to by Bros . J . B . Atkinson , D . Forbes , and several others . The enjoyment of tho evening was greatly enhanced by excellent songs by several brethren of the Lodge , accompanied by a professional brother .

Chapter of Elias Ashxnole , No . 148 , Warrington . — The regular convocation of this Chapter was held at the Chapter Booms , Sankey-street , on Monday evening last . The Chapter was opened by ex-Comps . Brierley Z ., John Bowes P . Z . Prov . G . S . N . Cumberland and Westmoreland H ., Thos . Tunstall J ., assisted by Comps . Edelsten P . Z ., and Dr . W . Finney P . Z . when the rest of

the Comps . were admitted , and the minutes read and confirmed . This being the Convocation for the election of Principals and other Officers for the ensuing year , the ballot was taken respectively , and with the following result : —John Bowes Z ., Thos . Tunstall H ., James Jackson J ., Galloway S . E ., Thos . Sutton S . N ., Edelsten P . S ., Finney Treasurer , aud Domville Janitor . Auditors having been appointed , and members

selected to act on tha New Masonic Hall Committee , it was decided to hold the Annual Festival at the Patten Arms Hotel , on the second Monday in March , after the installation of the Principals and the investiture of tho other Oflicers . No other business presenting itself , the Chapter was closed with the usual solemnities , and the Comps . separated iu perfect concord .

St . Michael ' s Lodge , No . 211 . —A meeting was held on Tuesday at the Albion Tavern , Aldersgate-strcet , E . G . There were present Bros . Alfred Green W . M ., Alfred Withers S . & c . Business—Lodge was opened , and the minutes were read aur confirmed . There was a candidate for the third degree , Bro . Ales , auder Henry Hitch ; he underwent examination , and proved hiinsel worthy of preferment . The W . M . then advanced the Lodge am ; performed the ceremony ; his working being carried out most impres . sively . The traditional history was given , and the tracing board o fc te degree fully explained . The other business of the evening

comprised the election ot W . M . aud treasurer for the ensuing year ; tht choice of the members for Master ' s chair foil on Bro . Alfred Withers , tho S . W ., while Bro . Charles Greenwood P . M . Prov . G . S c . Surrev was re-elected Treasurer . Bro . T . C . Speight was re-appointed as Tyler . The bye-laws of the Lodge were read and considered , ancl alter somo routine business , Lodgo was closed . Tho brethren partook of light refreshments , and spent an hour most pleasantly together .

Samaritan Lodge , No . 368 , Sandbach . —The annual meeting of this old Lodge was held on Wednesday , 8 th January , afc the Masonic Rooms , afc three o ' clock . The Locige was opened by the W . M . Bro . L . R . Jones , assisted by Bros . Rev . Thos . Lnnfc S . W . W . M . elect , E . Farnivall J . W ., T . Walton S . D ., R . Finlow J . D .,

in due form with prayer , when the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge being opened in the second degree , the W . M ., in the name of the Lodge , asked Bro . John Bowes to take the chair as Installing Master . The W . M . elect , tbe Rev . Thos . Lunt , was then presented for the benefit of installation , aud fcho first part of the ceremony being completed , tho Lodgo was

opened in the third degree . The Installing Master theu requested Bros . McGill aud Makin to take tho Vfardens' chairs , and tho collars and jewels being collected , all below the degree of Installed Masters , except the W . M . elect , retired . Bro . Rev . Thomas Lunt being entrusted , retired , aud a Board of Installed Masters was opened in ample form , the W . M . elect was admitted ancl installed in the chair of

K . S ., according to ancient custom . After the usual greetings , salutation , and proclamation by the W . Brethren , the Lodgo was called off , and tho cement properly applied . Labour resumed , tho Board was closed , and the brethren of the several degrees re-admitted , and the usual greetings , salutations , proclamations , and presentations made . The W . M . then nominated and invested his Officers for the

ensuing year , each of whom was addressed by the Installing Master , and subsequently the ancient addresses to the Master , Wardens and brethren were delivered by the same brother . The ceremony being completed , Bro . G . W . Latham said thoy were deeply indebted to Bro . Bowes for tho able manner in which ho had worked the ceremony , and the earnest impressiveness in which ho had conveyed tho

great Masonic truths of their ritual . Ho proposed that the thanks of the Lodge be accorded to him , and begged him to believe that he suggested no empty compliment . The vote was carried by acclamation , ancl Bro . Bowes having suitably responded , tho remainder of the business was completed , the Locige closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banqueting room , where an abundance of good

things awaited them . Gruce alter meat being said , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . We were much impressed by the earnest dignity with whioh the W . M . conducted the proceediugs , and the clear and intelligent exposition he gave of Masonio principles . In proposing the Installing Master's health , he acknowledged his deep obligations to Bro . Bowes , and paid a high compli . ment to that brother with respect to his rendering of the beautiful

ceremony of installation . Iu responding to the toast—The Visitors—Bro . Buxton said he did not remember spending a more pleasant day than he had on this occasion . He did not know which most pleased him , whether the installation ceremony or the utterances of the W . M . With both he had been delighted , and felt , greafcly indebted to Bro . Gilbert for inviting him . The Tyler ' s toasfc was proposed aboufc nine , and the brethren separated in harmony , well pleased with the day ' s proceedings .

William Preston Lodge of Instruction , No . 766 . —This Lodge held its usual meeting on Friday , the 10 th January , at he Feathers Tavern , Upper George-street , Edgware-road . Present—Bros . J . C . Hayes W . U ., Adair S . W ., Godden J . W ., Braun Hon . Sec , flndderforth Preceptor , Nichols S . D ., Hill J . D . ; also Brothers Heath , Coop , Cleghorn , Carpenter , Kennard , Mnrob , Tribbel , & c . The

Ijodge was opened in duo form , and the minutes wero read and con . firmed . Bro . Kennard , as candidate for passing , answered the qncsi / ons , was entrusted ; Lodge was opened up and the ceremony rehearsed . The Preceptor worked the sections of the second de-jree , assisted by Bros . Heath , Hayes , Cleghorn , Rndderforth and Adair . Uro . Adair was elected W . M . lor the following Friday , when the third

' oremony will be rehearsed , and the sections of thafc degree worked . It was proposed , seconded , and carried unanimously , that a Masonic carpet should be provided . Lodge was then closed in due form . For the information of the Craft in general , we announce that 15 membors of the Hyde Park Lodgs of Instruction will work the Ffteen Sections in this Lodge of Instruction on Friday , the 31 st of January next , Bro . Bead ia tbe ohair , Bro . Rudderfortb , Preceptor as Fill .

Samaritan Lodge , No . 368 , Sandbach . —The annual meeting of this old Lodge was held on Wednesday , 8 th January , afc the Masonic Rooms , afc three o ' clock . The Locige was opened by the W . M . Bro . L . R . Jones , assisted by Bros . Rev . Thos . Lnnfc S . W . W . M . elect , E . Farnivall J . W ., T . Walton S . D ., R . Finlow J . D .,

in due form with prayer , when the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge being opened in the second degree , the W . M ., in the name of the Lodge , asked Bro . John Bowes to take the chair as Installing Master . The W . M . elect , tbe Rev . Thos . Lunt , was then presented for the benefit of installation , aud fcho first part of the ceremony being completed , tho Lodgo was

opened in the third degree . The Installing Master theu requested Bros . McGill aud Makin to take tho Vfardens' chairs , and tho collars and jewels being collected , all below the degree of Installed Masters , except the W . M . elect , retired . Bro . Rev . Thomas Lunt being entrusted , retired , aud a Board of Installed Masters was opened in ample form , the W . M . elect was admitted ancl installed in the chair of

K . S ., according to ancient custom . After the usual greetings , salutation , and proclamation by the W . Brethren , the Lodgo was called off , and tho cement properly applied . Labour resumed , tho Board was closed , and the brethren of the several degrees re-admitted , and the usual greetings , salutations , proclamations , and presentations made . The W . M . then nominated and invested his Officers for the

ensuing year , each of whom was addressed by the Installing Master , and subsequently the ancient addresses to the Master , Wardens and brethren were delivered by the same brother . The ceremony being completed , Bro . G . W . Latham said thoy were deeply indebted to Bro . Bowes for tho able manner in which ho had worked the ceremony , and the earnest impressiveness in which ho had conveyed tho

great Masonic truths of their ritual . Ho proposed that the thanks of the Lodge be accorded to him , and begged him to believe that he suggested no empty compliment . The vote was carried by acclamation , ancl Bro . Bowes having suitably responded , tho remainder of the business was completed , the Locige closed , and the brethren adjourned to the banqueting room , where an abundance of good

things awaited them . Gruce alter meat being said , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured . We were much impressed by the earnest dignity with whioh the W . M . conducted the proceediugs , and the clear and intelligent exposition he gave of Masonio principles . In proposing the Installing Master's health , he acknowledged his deep obligations to Bro . Bowes , and paid a high compli . ment to that brother with respect to his rendering of the beautiful

ceremony of installation . Iu responding to the toast—The Visitors—Bro . Buxton said he did not remember spending a more pleasant day than he had on this occasion . He did not know which most pleased him , whether the installation ceremony or the utterances of the W . M . With both he had been delighted , and felt , greafcly indebted to Bro . Gilbert for inviting him . The Tyler ' s toasfc was proposed aboufc nine , and the brethren separated in harmony , well pleased with the day ' s proceedings .

William Preston Lodge of Instruction , No . 766 . —This Lodge held its usual meeting on Friday , the 10 th January , at he Feathers Tavern , Upper George-street , Edgware-road . Present—Bros . J . C . Hayes W . U ., Adair S . W ., Godden J . W ., Braun Hon . Sec , flndderforth Preceptor , Nichols S . D ., Hill J . D . ; also Brothers Heath , Coop , Cleghorn , Carpenter , Kennard , Mnrob , Tribbel , & c . The

Ijodge was opened in duo form , and the minutes wero read and con . firmed . Bro . Kennard , as candidate for passing , answered the qncsi / ons , was entrusted ; Lodge was opened up and the ceremony rehearsed . The Preceptor worked the sections of the second de-jree , assisted by Bros . Heath , Hayes , Cleghorn , Rndderforth and Adair . Uro . Adair was elected W . M . lor the following Friday , when the third

' oremony will be rehearsed , and the sections of thafc degree worked . It was proposed , seconded , and carried unanimously , that a Masonic carpet should be provided . Lodge was then closed in due form . For the information of the Craft in general , we announce that 15 membors of the Hyde Park Lodgs of Instruction will work the Ffteen Sections in this Lodge of Instruction on Friday , the 31 st of January next , Bro . Bead ia tbe ohair , Bro . Rudderfortb , Preceptor as Fill .
