Order of St- Lawrence the Martyr . —The annual meeting of the Ebor Lodge took place at the Queen ' s Hotel , York , on Wednesday last , when Bro . Geo . Simpson , the AV . M . elect , was duly installed by Bro . T . B . Whytehead , the outgoing R . W . Master . The Prov . Grand Lodge of West Yorkshire being hold on the same day , at Barnsley , prevented the attendance both of members and intending candidates from the West Riding , but the meeting was of an

D ., Thomas J . D ., W . Ferrar I . G ., Ferrar Treasurer , Williams Secretary , and others . The Locige was opened in ancient form with solemn prayer . The minntes of previous meeting were read and confirmed . Tho ceremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . AV . Ferrar candidate ,

and he having answered the usual questions , was raised to tho sublime degree of M . M . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree . Bro . Bonner worked the first , Bro . A . R . Olley the second , Bro . Fieldwick third and fourth sections of the Lecture , assisted by tho brethren . Bro . Geo . Ferrar was unanimously elected AV . M . for the ensningweek . Smith , a quarto copy of tho Constitutions of 1823 , for which valuable gift tho warmest thanks of tho brethren wero accorded . Bro . A . T . B . Turner announced his intention to accompany Bro . T . Cooper P . M . as a Steward at tho Festival of the Masonic Benevolent

Institution , and a subscription list having been opened , a very handsome sum was subscribed in tho room , the W . M . remarking ou the pleasure it afforded him to seo that their old and valued , true and trusty friend , Bro . Cooper , would take up with him the heaviest list yet contributed by the "Littlo Eboracum . " After the closing of the Lodge , a harmonious evening was spent , enlivened by songs from

the W . M ., Bro . T . Humphries and others . The health of the AV . M . was warmly received , the proposer , Bro . Balmford P . M ., remarking ou the hearty way in which he had thrown his whole energies into the affairs of the Lodge , and saying that the ceremony of that evening , the first the AV . M . had worked , proved him a really good working

Master , and from the way the Oflicers worked , he judged they had one and all determined to discharge their duties with faithfulness and zeal . In the case of the Eboracum Lodge , its history , short as it was , showed that it had only to continue as it had begun , to hold its splendid position amongst the Lodges of tho provinces .
