Hundred ofElloe Lodge , No . 469 . —Thursday , Oth insfc ., was ** " high day " with tho brethren connected with tho Hundred of Elloe Lodgo in Spalding , tho Animal Festival of St . John being celebrated on that day . At 2 . 30 business commenced , and tho labours of tho day were protracted until half-past six in tho evening . Tne

ceremonies of raising and installation were performed by the W . M . Bro . G . F . Barrell , in a manner seldom witnessed in n provincial Locige—indeed the D . G . M . of Lincolnshire , who was pressnfc , testifi 0 " his unqualified admiration afc fha manner in which theso onerous ceremonies had been carried through . Necessarily impressive and solemn , they were performed with the most perfect good tasto . and elicited the universal congratulations of the brethren . Bro .

Woodrow P . M . also performed tho ceremony of initiation in his customary ablo manner . Bro . Bonner P . M ., having been duly installed into the chair , briefly addressed tho brethren , thanking them for tho hononr thoy had conferred upon him , and testifying his intention to carry out the duties of his office to the best of his ability . Ono of the most pleasing ceremonies of the day was tho presentation bv Bro . Woodward P . M ., on behalf of Bros . Barroll , Bonner , and himself , of a magnificanfc banner , to bo used on " state occasions . " Bro . AVoodward expressed a very sincere wish that this might be accepted

as a token of their sincere regard for tho principles of tho Craft , and hoped that instead of a cold formality all tho members might evince attention to the principles of the Order . Tho brethren then adjourned to the White Hart Hotel ( the Commissioners refusing to let their board room for the purpose , as has been done for many years ) , whore a most sumptuous and rechercM banquet was provided by Bro .

Harper . The W . M . presided , supported by the D . P . G . M . of Lincolnshire ( Captain Locock ) , the I . P . M . ( Bro . Barroll P . G . A . D . C . of Lincolnshire ) , Bros . Perrv , Lowe P . G . C . of Lincolnshire and W . M . 27 * 2 , Dr . Wood W . M . 838 , Hodgings W . M . 985 , Hart 4 ( 36 , Shepherd ancl Ferguson 838 , with numerous other visitors , aud most of tho members of the Hundred of Elloo Locige . After tho banquet the usual Loyal and

Masonic toasts were given and duly acknowledged , some very useful and interesting conversation took place , which obviously cannot be recorded here , and several brethren enlivened the overling with songs and recitations . Bro . Cammack ancl Dr . Wood ably presided at tho piano . We cannot refrain from noting the splendid way in which Bro . Hayes rendered those exquisite songs , " Maid of Athens , " and tbo " Blue Alsatian Mountains , " while Bros . Abbott and Woodrotv ' s

truly Masonic somrs " struck home to every ono present . Bro . Hart also took part in the harmony , and Bro . Symes gave a recitation on "Tho Patience of Job , " with admirable effect , and after a most pleasant , eveninc * the brethren retired , well pleased with each other and the treat thoy had enjoyed . Wo understand thafc tho Provincial Grand Lodge of Lincolnshire will beheld at Spalding early in tho summer of this year .

Brecknock Lodge , No . 651 . —On Tuesday the 7 th inst ., the Brethren held their annual installation meeting at the Masonic rooms , Castle Hotel , -when Bro . G ., Roo Preceptor , Gow , & o . Lodge opened in due form ancl advanced to third degree . On being resumed to tho first , Bro . Goss offered himself as candidate , and the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed . Tho Lodge was called off , and again resumed to the third , and then regularly closed down .

New Concord Chapter , No . 813 . —A convocation was held at Guildhall Tavern on Thursday , Oth January , Comps . Crawford M . E . Z ., J . Wright H ., Cusworth J ., J . Terry P . Z ., Gallant P . Z ., W . H . Main S . E ., Tiddemau S . N ., H . J . Gabb P . S ., Chicken Second Assistant , Speight Janitor . Visitors—Comps . Soper and Smith . Bros .

Atkins P . M . 813 , Stephenson 813 , Musto 813 , Allardyee 813 , and Sharmau 1158 , were duly exalted . The report of the auditors was received aud adopted , and tho Chapter , which has only been in existence little over a year , may be congratulated upon its prosperous condition . The Comps . then adjourned to a very excellent banquet , when the usual Loyal and Eoyal Arch toasts were honoured .

Dalhousie Lodge of Instruction , No 860 — Held its weekly meeting on Tnescluy evening last at Bro . Smyth ' s , Sisters ' Tavern , Pownall-road , Dalston . Bro . M . Christian VV . M ., Wardell S . W ., Smyth J . W ., Polak S . D ., Williams J . D ., Carr I . G ., Dallas Sec , Smyth Treas ., P . M . Wallington Preceptor . Bros . Brasted , 0 . Lorkin , Giller , nnd others . The Lodge was opened , and tho wiaatos of

the last meeting read and confirmed . Bro . J . Lorkin answered tho necessary questions ; the Lodge was opened in the second degree , and ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . J . Lorkin as candidate . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , when Bro . Lorkin worked the first , second , third , aud fourth sections of the lecture , assisted by fcho brethren . Bro . After the labour of the evening , the refreshment was very acceptable , Bro . Host Dougherty hud provided a capital dinner . The cloth having been removed , Bro . Morgan , the . W . M .

gave the usual Masonic toasts , which wero heartily received . Ho regretted the absence of the elected Officers , and was sure ifc was only through urgent business on their part . Bro . IL E . Jonos P . M ., in proposing the W . M . ' s health , which was received with very hearty " firing , " referred to his Masonic efficiency , and to his geniality to visitors . Tho T yler ' s toast brought tho close of a happy evening .

brought forward a motion , of which he had given uofcice , viz . " That an investigation committee be formed to enquire into the character of tho proposed candidates . " This was seconded by Bro . Holliday P . M ., and after considerable discussion was eventually carried by a majority of one . The W . M . then presented Bro . White the I . P . M .

with an inscription on vellum , which had been voted by the Locige for the admirable manner in which he had performed the installation ceremony . Bro . P . M . White briefly returned thanks in a few appropriate remarks . The Lodge was closed in due form , aud the Brethren enjoyed a capital evening , which was enlivened by somo good singing .

Anchor Lodge , No . 1337 . —The Installation meeting of this Lodgo took place in tho Masonic Rooms , Northallerton , Yorkshire , on Tuesday last , when Bro . M . Walmsloy S . W . and W . M ., assisted by the brethren . Bro . Norris made an earnest appeal to the Lodge to assist , him as Steward afc the next Festival of tho E . M . B . I ., and received snbscriptions from several of the brethren . Bro . Hyland was elected W . M . for next meeting . Tbe Lodge was closed in perfect harmony , with solemn prayer , and adjourned to Tuesday next .

York Lodge of Eoyal Ark Mariners . — A meeting of this Lodge , attached to the York Mark Lodge ( T . I . ) , was held at York on Wednesday evening . Present—Bros . T . B . Whytehead N ., W . P . Husband as J ., G . Simpson as S ., M . Millington Sec , A . T . B . Turner

Conductor , and several other members . There were six candidates for elevation , who were all safely received aud entrusted . The sum of half-a-guinea was voted to the Steward's list of Bro . T . Tho Lodge was opened punctually at 0 o ' clock , and aficr tho minutes had been confirmed B' '<> . Johnson , who was a candiilnto for passing , was examine I , entrusted ancl retired . The Lodge was open d in the Second Diigrce , and Brother Johnson was duly passed . After the Locige was resumed , Brother Day

brought forward a motion , of which he had given uofcice , viz . " That an investigation committee be formed to enquire into the character of tho proposed candidates . " This was seconded by Bro . Holliday P . M ., and after considerable discussion was eventually carried by a majority of one . The W . M . then presented Bro . White the I . P . M .

with an inscription on vellum , which had been voted by the Locige for the admirable manner in which he had performed the installation ceremony . Bro . P . M . White briefly returned thanks in a few appropriate remarks . The Lodge was closed in due form , aud the Brethren enjoyed a capital evening , which was enlivened by somo good singing .

Anchor Lodge , No . 1337 . —The Installation meeting of this Lodgo took place in tho Masonic Rooms , Northallerton , Yorkshire , on Tuesday last , when Bro . M . Walmsloy S . W . and W . M . elect was placed in the chair of K . S ., Bro . A . Knovvles P . M . and P . P . G . D . performing tho ceremony . The W . M . invested his Officers as follow :-Bros . II . llymer I . P . W ., Greene J . D ., Godolphiu I . G ., Somers P . M ., Osborn Secretary ; also Bros . Norris , Patmore , Hallam sen ., Wood , Herst , and several other brethren . The Lodgo was opened in ancient form with solemn prayer . The minntes of tbe preceding Lodge meeting were

read aud confirmed . Tho ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Hallam sen ., acting as candidate . Tho 1 st , 2 ud , and 4 th sections of the lecture were worked by the W . M ., assisted by the brethren . Bro . Norris made an earnest appeal to the Lodge to assist , him as Steward afc the next Festival of tho E . M . B . I ., and received snbscriptions from several of the brethren . Bro . Hyland was elected W . M . for next meeting . Tbe Lodge was closed in perfect harmony , with solemn prayer , and adjourned to Tuesday next .

York Lodge of Eoyal Ark Mariners . — A meeting of this Lodge , attached to the York Mark Lodge ( T . I . ) , was held at York on Wednesday evening . Present—Bros . T . B . Whytehead N ., W . P . Husband as J ., G . Simpson as S ., M . Millington Sec , A . T . B . Turner

Conductor , and several other members . There were six candidates for elevation , who were all safely received aud entrusted . The sum of half-a-guinea was voted to the Steward's list of Bro . T .
