althongh they were there to render any service tho Lodge might require . He was sure it was most gratifying to the brethren , and to tho P . M . 's in particular . Bro . Mortlock returned his thanks . Ho had known the Lodgo a long time , although not a P . M . of tho Lodge , which he wished he had been , ho had , first as a constant visitor , and now for some time past as its caterer , endeavoured to do all in his
power for tho welfare of the Lodsre , aud should continue so to do . The Officers' toast followed . This , tho W . M . said , was a very important toast . No Lodge , whatever degree of perfection may be possessed by its Past Masters and W . M ., can hope to bo a good working and successful Lodge unless it has Officers who not only know thoir duties , but whose hearts aro in their work . Good Officers arc
essential , and keep tho Lodge in trim . Unfortunately this evening he had not had tho pleasure of witnessing what his Officers conld do , but at thoir future meetings ho was sure thoy would find nothing wanting . Our S . W . \ eal is a brother full of zeal , and no doubt will , when he attains the position of AV . M ., do his work admirably , and be a pattern Master . The J . W . Magrath is ' a promising Officer , and will
do credit to any office ho may be called upon to fill . Our S . D . Wooding is a first-rate member , and is coming forward in his working . If I can credit tho whispers I hear , wo shall find him a fitting brother , and wish wo had had an opportunity of witnessing his work . Tho same remarks apply to onr J . D . Horsley , who , we all know , to bo qualified to do higher work than he at present has to perform . I
hope it will not bo long before ho attains the highest position . The I . G . Carrociero ' s duty , although it may appear a small office , yet is a most important one , and I hope the brother who holds that office may work his way up to tho highest post . In mentiotiitig " tho Treasurer , Bro . P . M . Hayward , the AV . M . said he felt very bashful , as his ' son , in proposing his health . Without him he shonld never
have been able to fill his position , and it gave him great joy to see him in thoir midst . Ho has won the respect , and esteem of all in this Lodge . Onr Secretary , Bro . Hardy , has been called away through sickness , but we all know how ho discharges his important duties . The toast was heartily received . Bro . S . AV ., in returning thanks , said he was afraid the W . Master ' s account of him was highly
coloured . He was doing his best , and hoped to do the duties he might be called upon to perform with credit . Bro . Macrrath also returned thanks .
