Grand Master ' s Lodge ( No . 1 ) . —Owing to the continued indisposition of Bro . Harris , the W . M . of this highly distinguished Lodge , the chair , at the commencement of the proceedings on the 19 th nit ., was filled by Bro . G . W . K . Potter , P . M ., who passed a Brother to the 2 nd Degree . This done , Bro . Potter resigned the chair to Bro . F . Crew , P . M . and Sec , who installed Bro . S . Rawson P . G . M . for China as W . M . for the year ensuing , the ceremony being shorn of much of its beauty and impress ! veness , owing to Bro . Rawson having previously served the office

of W . M . in another Lodge . After receiving the congratulations of the Brethren assembled , the new W . M . raised a Brother to the 3 rd Degree , performing " the work" in a manner that reflected the highest credit on his ability and attainments . The next duty was the appointment and investiture of the Officers , viz . Bros . Shuttleworth as S . W . ; Dart , J . W . ; Giraud , P . M ., Treas . ; F . Crew , Sec . ; Benton , S . D . ; Stone , J . D . ; Case , D . C . ; Allom , Steward ; and Robertson , I . G . About thirty Brethren then adjourned to a magnificent banquet , abundantly furnished , and excellently served , over which the W . M . presided , discharging his duties so as not only to confirm , but increase the favourable opinion formed upstairs . The

visitors were Bros . Lewis Crombie , P . M ., No . 233 ; Jno . Barnes , P . M ., No . 30 ; F . Binckes , P . M ., No . 11 ; Horton Smith , No . 106 ; Crombie , No . 187 ; and H . M . Simons , No . 748 . It is impossible to visit this Lodge , so celebrated in every respect , without paying a proper meed of admiration to the celebrity , the possession of which is its chief boast , in the person of its respected and esteemed Secretary , Bro . F . Crew , known throughout the Craft—the delight of every company he visits . He nowhere shines to greater advantage than when in the society of those he loves so well , —the Brethren of the Grand Master ' s Lodge . Long may he be spared to discharge the multifarious duties devolving upon him , which he does in a manner not to be equalled , whether it be to amuse , entreat , exhort ,

admonish , or applaud ! Somerset House and Inverness Lodge . ( No . 4 ) . —At the monthly meeting of this highly distinguished Lodge on the 26 th January , Bro . Roxburgh was re-elected W . M . for the ensuing year . St . George and Corner Stone ( No . 5 ) . —This excellent Lodge held a meeting at the Freemasons' Tavern , on Monday , January 12 , for the purpose of electing the W . M . for the ensuing twelvemonth . The election fell upon the S . W ., Bro * Perkins , G . S . ; and Bro . John Havers , P . M ., was re-elected Treas . There being no other business of importance before the Lodge , the Brethren adjourned to

IloYATi York Lodge oe Perseverance ( No . 7 ) . —Amongst the notabilities of the Masonic season must certainly be included the meeting of Wednesday , the 21 st January , when a most numerous and imposing array of Brethren was pre * sent to celebrate the installation of Bro . Isidor Levinson as W . M . of this ancient

and justly-renowned Lodge . No better or more substantial testimony could be afforded to the private worth and many Masonic virtues of Bro . Levinaon than was manifested by the large assemblage of his friends anxious to congratulate him . on his elevation to the distinguished position he is ho well qualified to adorn . Bro . J . Hervey commenced the proceedings of the day by raising two Brethren to the 3 rd Degree , after which live gentlemen were initiated , the ceremonies in
