From the unavoidable absence of some of the Brethren , the other Offices were left open ; a vote of thanks was unanimously carried to Bro . Chiffreill for his present of two most handsomely bound copies of the By daws , inscribed on vellum . A vote of thanks was also carried unanimously to Bro . Perryman , for having handsomely framed a set of Tracing Boards , which had been previously presented to the Lodge
by Bro . Harris . * " The Brethren then proceeded to banquet . After drinking the usual loyal toasts , the W . M . proposed the health of the Grand Officers , and expressed his pleasure on seeing as a visitor , Bro . J . Smith , a P . M . of the Lodge , who by his talent and usefulness , had become one of that much honoured body . Bro , Smith , G . T ., in thanking the Brethren , expressed his great pleasure in visiting them , as it recalled to his mind many happy reminiscences , and he felt peculiarly happy to see the truly Masonic feeling which had been displayed during
the appointment of the Officers . The W . M . proposed the health of the newly initiated Brethren , and also the health of the visitors , Bros . Smith , G . P . ; Potter , P . M ., No . 11 ; Crawley , P . M ., ISTo . 103 ; Pring , ISTo . 597 ; Geo . Genge ; and several others . Bro . Pring expressed the great pleasure he felt in attending the Lodge , the more so as he had been the means of introducing a most worthy man
as a Brother amongst them . In proposing the health of the W . M ., the P . M . Bro . Woods expressed his confidence that his talent and attention to his duties would be such as to reflect honour on himself , and add to the prosperity of the Lodge , After drinking the healths of the P . M . and Officers , the Brethren separated , having spent a most delightful evening , the pleasure of which was much enhanced by the excellent singing of Bro . Geo . Genge , and several of the members of the Lodge .
Enoch Lodge ( No . 11 ) . —The monthly meeting was held at the Freemasons ' Tavern , on the 14 th January , Bro . F . Binckes , W . M ., presiding . One gentleman was initiated ; five Brethren were passed to the 2 nd , and one Brother raised to the 3 rd Degree . These ceremonies concluded , Bro . Binckes proceeded to install his successor , Bro . W . S . Masterman , who had been unanimously elected W . M . for the year ensuing , in the presence of a numerous muster of installed Masters . The appointment and investiture of Officers followed : —Bros . J . Austin , S . W . ;
Poyne , J . W . ; W . Williams , P . M ., Treas . ; P . M ., Sec . ; R . Temple , P . M ., Dir . of Oer . ; German , S . D . ; Sewell , J . D . ; and Watson , I . G . Bro . Crawley was unanimously re-elected Tyler . The banqueting-board was most sumptuously furnished , the viands and wines giving entire satisfaction to the company assembled , in number fifty , whose ears were also delighted by the many excellent songs contributed by Bros . Hime , Birch , C . Sloman , Watson , and others . Bro . Masterman very efficiently discharged the duties which devolved upon him as
W . M . at the head of the festive board , and we sincerely trust that a happy and prosperous year of Office is in store for him . The visiting list comprised Bros . Br . Bowe , Prov . G . John Barnes , to that of " The Visitors . " We cannot conclude our notice without bearing witness to the admirable manner in which the duties of Dir . of Oer . in this Lodge are discharged by Bro . P . M ! . Temple . Careless of his own comfort , he is indefatigable in promoting the happiness of others , and needs no other reward than the knowledge that his efforts to provide for the enjoyment of his Brethren

M ., presided over a numerous meeting of the members of this Lodge , on the 12 th January , the business being the initiation of three gentlemen into the Order , and conferring the 3 rd Degree upon Mr . Hamilton Braham , the well-known vocalist . The ceremonies were performed jointly by the W . M . and Bro . Marriott , P . M ., after which the Brethren sat down to a most revherchv repast , provided by tho
