Brethren to write to Bro . Warren , at the Office , Bed Lion-coart , Pieet-street , who , he was sure , would pay prompt attention to their communications . The pleasures of the evening- were much enhanced by the excellent singing of Bros . Caney , Gilbro , Isaacs , Purkiss , & c . & c . ; and the Brethren retired from as happy an evening as though they had had a well-spread banquet .
Old Concord Lodge ( No . 201 ) . —On Tuesday , January 6 th , a numerous meeting of the members of this Lodge took place at the Freemasons' Tavern . Bro , Nicholson , the W . M ., raised Bro . Lowden to the 3 rd Degree ; passed Bros . Minnis and Clayton to the degree of Fellow Crafts ; and initiated Messrs . Cuddeford , Harvey , and Earls into the mysteries and privileges of the Order ( the latter gentleman being from Toronto , Canada ) . These ceremonies heing ended , Bro . Nicholson proceeded to install his successor , Bro . Jeffries . This impressive ceremony was performed
in a manner so masterly as to command the admiration of a numerous body of visitors , and to cause a unanimous vote of thanks bv the members to be recorded on the Lodge minutes . During the installation upwards of sixty members and visitors were present in the Lodge . The newly-installed Master appointed as his Officers Bros . Jackson , S . W . ; Maney , J . W . ; P . M . Kennedy , Treas . ; P . M . Emmens , Sec . ; Underwood , S . D . ; theBev . J . Laughlin ( Chaplain ) , J . D . ; Norlan , I . G . ; Swainston , M . C . ; and Bladon and Waters , Stewards . The W . M . then
presented to Bro . Nicholson a handsome jewel , and , in doing so , stated that he felt quite certain there was but one feeling predominant with every Brother of the Lodge as regarded the worthy P . M ., which was that of sincere esteem and brotherly affection . Bro . Nicholson thanked the W . M . and Brethren for the very handsome compliment paid to him , and assured them he should ever cherish this token of their esteem in grateful remembrance of the Old Concord Lodge and all its members . Bro . Emmens , P . M . and Sec , informed the Brethren that , since the last meeting , Bro . Sharp ' s daughter had been received as a candidate
for the School , and with every chance of being successful . The Lodge business being concluded , sixty of the Brethren adjourned to the banquet , and spent a most harmonious and delightful evening . Manchesteb Lodoe ( No . 209 ) . —The regular meeting of this Lodge took place at the Gun Tavern , Pimlico , at an early hour on Thursday , January 15 th , under the able presidency of Bro . B . Collard , to whose exertions the prosperity of his year of office is mainly to be attributed . After a passing and raising , the W . M ., in accordance with the usual efficient working * in this Lodire , installed his successor , Bro . M . Levinson , as W . M . for the ensuing year , in a masterly and perfect manner . The newly-installed Master initiated Mr . O . A . Wallis in a
very impressive manner , which elicited the general approbation of the members and numerous visitors present . The Lodge having called off , a very excellent banquet was provided by Bro . Backstraw . Among the visitors we noticed Bros . Jos . Smith , Grand Pursuivant ; Young , No . 11 , G . Steward ; Tull , Prov . G . Org . for Berks ; Odell , W . M . No . 165 ; Curton , W . M . No . 211 ; Copus , W . M . No . 752 ; J . Levinson , W . M . elect , No . 7 ; Potter , P . M . No . 11 ; By water , P . M . No . 19 ; Warren , P . O . Steward , and P . M . No . 202 ; Harrison , P . Tull contributed , the Lodge cloned , and the Brethren retired happy , and in pleasureable anticipation of the next meeting . We have no douht that , under the presi-
