Zetland Lodge ( No . 782 ) . —On Wednesday , January 21 st , the installation of the W . M . of this Lodge took place in the Lodge-room , at the Monk ' s Ferry Hotel , which honour was conferred upon Bro . J . P . Piatt , the 'S . W ., who had been unanimously elected to the office . The ceremony was very ably performed by Bro . William Bully , the retiring W . M ., assisted by Bros . Willoughby , P . Prov . S . G . 'D . ; Bamplin , P . Prov . S . S . of W . ; Benton , P . Prov . J . G . D ; Samuelson ,

The Brethren afterwards partook of a most sumptuous banquet , provided with a profusion and excellence for which Bro . We are happy to add that this Lodge is one of the most prosperous in the province , there being upwards of one hundred subscribing members , and the Lodge being furnished in a style not equalled in this part of the country .

" Presented to Brother P . M . William Bully , by the Brethren of the Zetland Lodge , No . 782 , as a mark of their appreciation of his Masonic worth . —Birkenhead , January , 1857 . " Bro . Bully , in appropriate terms , acknowledged the compliment paid to him . The Brethren then sat down to a very excellent Banquet , laid out in a style of excellence which reflected the highest credit on the worthy host , Bro . Hillier . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given and responded to , and the evening was spent in true Masonic harmony and hilarity .
Chester . —Cestrian Lodge ( No . 615 ) . —The Festival of St . John was celebrated at the Royal Hotel , on Monday , December 29 . The Lodge was opened for business at three o ' clock P . M ., when the solemn ceremony of installing the Master for the following year was impressively performed by Bro . B . M . Willoughby . The Brethren having formed in procession and saluted their new Master ( Bro . John Davies Weaver , of this city ) , according to ancient custom , his Worship was pleased to appoint the following Brethren his Officers for the year ensuing—Bros . J . H . Leche ( of Carden Park ) , S . W . ; Charles II . Dickson , J . W . ; S . Brown , P . M ., Sec . and Treas . ; John Jones , S . D . ; B . M . Pigott , J . D . ; George Tibbitts , I . G . ; S . Jones , Tyler ; and Boothroyd , Steward . In the absence of the B . W . Brov . G . M ., Field-Marshal the Viscount Combermere , who was prevented by a severe cold from attending , the B . W . 1 ) . Prov . G . M ., John Finchett Maddock , occupied the throne , and was received in the Lodge with the grand honours . After the Masonic business of the day was concluded , the Lodge was called from labour , when the Brethren proceeded to the banquet-room , where a magnificent dinner was hlid out , consisting of all the choice and dainty things
