Labour being over , the Brethren were called to refreshment , and sat down to a banquet provided by Bro . Northway , of the Bedford Hotel , who certainly not only kept up his well-deserved reputation as a caterer , but on this occasion even surpassed himself . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given and duly honoured ; and , after spending a pleasant day , the Brethren separated at eight o ' clock .
DORSETSHIRE . ^ Doechester .---Lodge of Faith and Unanimity ( No . 605 ) . — The annual celebration of the Festival of St . John took place on the 2 nd January , when a large number of the Brethren partook of an excellent supper at the Lodge-room , provided by Mrs . Parcel , the widow of the late Bro . Parcel , of the Mail Coach Inn . The W . M . ( Bro . Thomas Robinson ) was invested , and he afterwards appointed his
Officers for the year ensuing , as follows : —Bros . Thomas Bennett , S . W . ; Thomas Coombs , J . W . ; John Garland , Sec ; William Thornhill , S . D . ; Joseph Robinson , J . D . ; T . Y . Tulloch and F . Lock , Stewards ; John Lovelace . I . G . Bros . James Andrews was elected Treas . ; and Thomas Wellman , Tyler . The evening was spent in harmony , and several visiting Brethren signified their intention of becoming members of this Lodge , which is in a , very prosperous state .
Wareham— Lodge of Unity ( ISTo . 512 ) . —The installation of Bro . Claville Filliter as Master for this Lodge for the present year , took place in the Town Hall , on the 29 th December . The ceremony being performed by Bro . the Bev . Thos . Bearce , Vicar of Morden , and Prov . S . W . The Officers appointed were as follows : — Bros . Henry Hatherly , S . W . ; J . Barnett , J . Cook . Amongst the company assembled on the occasion , we noticed P . Ms . Crossby ( of Sunderland ) , Tulloch ( North Shields ) , ToshacL , Johnson , Ridley , and Barker . At the close of the banquet the Brethren adjourned to the Lodge-room , and the L / odge having been opened in dne form , "The Queen" ( by the W . M . ) was given . " The Grand Master of England .
