Liverpool . —Ancient Union Lodge ( No . 245 ) . —Bro . Wearing having been re-elected W . M ., the Brethren of this Lodge assembled to pay him the accustomed honours upon his installation on Thursday evening the 15 th of January , at the Boyal Hotel , Dale-street , Bros . Simpson and Brindie , B . M . No . 245 , and Wearing , B . M . ' No . 350 ( Lancaster ) , officiated at the ceremony . The W . M . appointed the following Brethren as his Officers for the ensuing year : — -Bros . Clark , S . W . ; Bromley , J . W . ; Pritchard , S . B . ; Shepherd , J . D . ; Caddow I . G . ; Fabert , M . C . ;

and Anderson , bee . Alter tne installation , a circular was read irom tne Jfrov . Grand Secretary for the province , requesting the Brethren to wear Masonic mourning for six months , as a mark of respect to the memory of their worthy and much-esteemed Brother , the Bev . Gilmour Bobinson , the B . W . D . Brov . G . M . Two gentlemen were then admitted into the Order . Several charitable bequests having been brought before the Lodge , and generously responded to , the Brethren adjourned to an excellent banquet , at which Bro . Babert , the M . C .. fulfilled his duties , which were of no easy character , so as to elicit the praises of all . After the cloth had been withdrawn , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed

by the W . M ., after which he made a most eloquent speech , commenting upon the numerous virtues and highly estimable qualities of the late R . W . D . Brov . G . M ., and concluded by proposing a toast to his memory , which was drunk in solemn silence . The P . M ., Bro . Simpson , in a few suitable remarks , proposed the health of the W . M .-, stating that as the Lodge had placed Bro . Wearing in the chair a second year , it showed that they must repose the greatest confidence in him , and he felt persuaded that that confidence would not be misplaced ; we need hardly say that the toast was responded to heartily . The W . M . returned thanks in a

few words , pledging himself to do the utmost that lay in his power for the advancement of the Lodge , and then proposed the health of the newly-invested Officers . These all responded to the toast in eloquent terms , promising to work together with that harmonious feeling so requisite for the maintenance of order and regularity in a Lodge . The W . M . then proposed the health of the newlyinitiated members . Bro . Bitt , in returning thanks , aptly remarked , that as the

middy , when he joins his vessel , hopes some day to be a Nelson , so he hoped some day to be a W . M ., and should ever keep that high idea in his mind ' s eye . Bro . Callis , the Treasurer , proposed the health of the visiting Brethren . Bro , Hokemuller , of the Grand Lodge of Hanover , in a most eloquent and truly Masonic speech , which frequently produced sounds of applause , returned thanks on behalf of the foreign visitors , and Bro . Wearing , P . M . No . 350 , returned thanks for the other visiting Brethren . The meeting was enlivened with some verv excellent sonofs from Bros . Britchard , Shenherd , Nuttalh Jones . Bord ,

Shrigley , S . W . of No . 350 ( Lancaster ) , and others . The last toast of the evening having been given , the Lodge was closed in ancient form . We cannot help prophesying that from what we know personally of the W . M . and Officers of this Lodge , it will go on prospering and increasing every month , and we trust that peace and harmony will still continue to exist among its members .

Lodge of Sincerity ( No . 368 ) . —The ceremony of the installation of Bro . Allender as the W . M . of this Lodge took place at the Adelphi Hotel , on Monday , the 12 th of January , when the following Officers w ere appointed : —Bros . Turmeau , S . W . ; Hammond , J . W . ; Hetherington , Sec . ; Alpass , Dir . Cers . ; A . C . Edwards , S . D . ; P . Clarke , J . D . ; Watson , I . G . ; and Nodder and Lucas , Stewards . The W . M . having been duly installed according to ancient form by

Bro . Wylie , B . M . No . 308 , and Brov . G . Sec . for West Lancashire , he initiated two gentlemen into the Order , and it was remarked by several old members of the Fraternity that they had never heard any W . M ., on the night of his installation , give the Degree in such an impressive and careful manner as Bro . Allender , and also that the Officers performed their respective duties with credit to themselves

and satisfaction to the Brethren . Among those assembled to do honour to the W . M . were the following Brov . ( 1 . Officers and W . Ma . of Lodges : —Bros . Perrin , Prov . S . G . W . ; Billinge , Brov . G . D . N . ; H . Gambell , Prov . G . Burst . ; Kefp h ) , Prov . G . I ) . W . : Molyneux , Prov . G . Org . ; T . Wylie , Brov . G-. Sec . ; Hess , Prov . J . G .
