M . then quitted the chair , and the Earl of Carnarvon , and other principal guests , left the room amidst loud applause .

Bkidgewater . —Lodge of Perpetual Friendship { No . 157 ) . —This Lodge celebrated its anniversary at the Lamb Inn , on . the 27 th December . After the usual preliminaries had been gone through , assisted by the Brothers in the very pleasing and interesting ceremony , the Bev . Bro . A . H . P . Trewman , vicar of North Petherton , was installed , with all honours , W . M . for the ensuing year . The various Officers were then appointed to constitute the Lodge , for the same period , on the pure principles of religion , with that beloved gift of Charity , which adorns the character of the Order . After the business of tht Lodge , the Brothers sat down to a dejeuner of the most recherche description , provided by Bro . W . Tiver . Loyal and Masonic toasts were given from * the chair , and in the course of the evening several appropriate songs and glees were ably given .

Taunton . —Lodge of Unanimity and Sincerity ( No . 825 ) . —The anniversay of this Lodge was celebrated on December 29 , at Clarke ' s Hotel . The Lodge was opened at twelve o ' clock , when Bro . Oakley , the W . M . elect , was duly installed into office . After the usual formula , the W . M . appointed the following Officers : —Bros . Butler , P . M . ; Kingsbury , S . W . ; W . Adair , J . W . ; Roberts , S . D . ; Bluett , J . D . ; C . Lake , Treas . ; B . Dinham , Sec . ; W . Napier , Chap . ; Summerhayes , Org . ; Clarke , M . C . ; H . Bale and Beach , Stewards ; Bogers , Tyler . At four o ' clock in the afternoon , the Brethren sat down to a capital dinner , which was served up in the worthy hostess ' s welhknown good style , after which the company thoroughly enjoyed themselves , not forgetting the principles of " Friendship , Love , and

Truth . " SOUTH WALES . Swansea . —IndefatigaUe Lodge ( No . 268 ) . —The Brethren held their annual [ Festival of St . John on Monday , the 29 th December , at the Mackworth Arms Hotel , when about filly of the Craft sat down to a splendid dinner , provided for the occasion by Bro . "Viner . Several members of St . Peter ' s Lodge , Carmarthen ,

were invited , and those who attended were treated with all that kindness and hospitality which distinguishes true brotherhood . Amongst those present from & t . Peter ' s Lodge wore Bros . W . G . S . Thomas , W . M . ; Ben . Jones , P . M .. ; Cole , Williams , Lewis , & c . & c .
