Fidelity Chapter ( No . 3 ) . —At the meeting of this Chapter on the 2 nd January , at the London Tavern , Comps . Grant , Blake , and Chown , were installed in the chairs of Z ., H ., and J ., Comps . J . N . Tomkins , Treas . ; Figg , E . ; Warrick / N . ; Moore , P . S . ; the retiring principal Comp . Shackleton was unanimously voted a Past First Principal ' s Jewel for his efficient services rendered to the Chapter during his year of office .

METBOPOLITAN CHAPTEBS

Bobert Burns Chapter ( No . 25 ) . —A convocation of this numerous Chapter was holden on the 26 th of January , when Comp . Kirby was elected M . E . Z . ; Carpenter , H . ; T . Allen , J . ; W . Blackburn , Treas . ; T . Tomblison ( father of the Chapter ) , E . ; Hewlitt , N . ; Brampton , P . S . Bro . Gladstone of No . 25 was duly exalted into this Sublime Degree , Bro . Blackburn acting as Z . At the conclusion of the ceremonies the Comps . supped together , Comp . Morbey of Chapter , No . 778 , returning thanks for the visitors .

Jeetjsalem Chapter ( No . 218 ) . —A convocation of this Chapter was held at the Bridge House Hotel , Southwark , on Tuesday , January 13 , Comp . Scambler , P . Z ., officiated in the place of the M . E . Z . ( whom we regret to say was again absent from continued illness ) , and proceeded to exalt Bro . Knipe , St . Helena Lodge , No . 718 , who holds several high appointments , both civil and military , in that island . We trust the worthy Companion will have ample opportunities of making

himself acquainted with the practice of Boyal Arch Masonry before he returns , in order to introduce its working in the island , where Craft Masonry flourishes to a great extent . The business being completed , the Companions retired to banquet , and passed an exceedingly pleasant evening , under the presidency of Comp . Newsom , P . Z ., whose humourous and amusing speeches created a fund of enjoyment , and evoked the good-humoured smile and joyous laugh of his approving auditors . The only visitor present was Comp . Case , No . 324 .

Chapter of Hope ( No . 248 ) . —The Companions assembled on Wednesday , the 14 th January , at the Globe Tavern , Royal Hill , Greenwich , for the installation of Principals . Henry Gibbon , Z . ; Thomas Hutchings , H . ; William Charles Penny , J . The ceremony was very ably performed by the M . E . Comp . George Biggs , P . Z . and P . G . D . C ., who was during the evening unanimously elected a honorary member of the Chapter . The visitors were Comps . Biggs , J . Archer ,

Thomas Bohn , Warrington , and others . The business of the convocation being concluded , the Companions adjourned to an elegant dinner , served in Comp . Moore ' s best style . The chair was efficiently filled by the M . E . Z ., Henry Gibbon , and the pleasures of the evening were much enhanced by the excellent singing of Comp . Benny and others . The veterans of this Chapter , Comps . Leigh , P . Z ., and Samuel Noble , P . Z . and Treasurer , were present , and in excellent health and spirits .

Polish National Chapter ( No . 778 ) . —At the communication of this Chapter , held 22 nd January , Bro . Bringle of Lodge No . 211 , was exalted to the Boyal Arch Degree . The Companions , after the close of Masonic business , supped together under the able presidency of Comp . Warren , M . E . Z . The only visitor was Comp . Archer , a Bast Principal of the Chapter .
