Dennison was duly vested as First Principal . The other officers went up a step ; Comp . Morris being invested as S . N . Everything passed off well .

HuDnERSFiELD . —Chapter of Prospertty ( No . 365 ) . —A meeting of the Chapter of Boyal Arch Masons of Jerusalem , attached to the Huddersfield Lodge , No . 365 , was held at the Zetland Hotel on Wednesday evening , January 21 st , when Bros . B * H . Robinson and M . H . Hirst , both of the Lodge of Truth , No . 763 , were exalted to that Supreme Degree by M . E . Z ., Comp . Thompson . Margate . —Thanet Chapter ( No . 119 ) . —This Chapter held its first anniversary

meeting at the Kings Head Hotel , Margate , on Tuesday , January 6 , the business consisting of the installation of the three Principals for the year : — Comps . Poussett , Z . ; Phipps , H . ; and Stanah , J . ; the business being performed by Comps . Harvey Boys , William Watson , and C . Isaacs . The other Officers appointed were Comps . Stranding , N . ; Hay ward , P . S . ; and Harvey Boys , Treas . An elegant banquet closed the proceedings .

Shropshire . —Eyton Chapter of St . John ( No . 875 ) . —The companions of this flourishing Chapter assembled at the Spa , Admaston , AVellington , on the evening of Monday , the 5 th of December . As a tribute of respect to the memory of Comp . Maxon , the Comps . appeared in Masonic mourning . The ceremonies of Consecration of the Chapter , Installation of the Principals , and exaltation of a candidate , were performed by Comp . Geo . Marriott , in his usual able , impressive , and solemn manner . Comps . W . Brightwell was installed First Principal ;

Thomas Campbell Eyton , Second Principal , and W . Anslow , Third Principal . Comp . Lewis was inducted as N ., Evett , as E ., Belliss , P . S ., who appointed Comps . Evans and Randall his assistants , Barber , Treas ., and Cureton , J . After the close of Masonic business , the Comps . banqueted together . Comp . Brightwell , in allusion to the loss which the Chapter had sustained in the decease of Comp . Maxon , said : Comps ., —Since last we assembled , one of our Companions has been summoned from this sublunary abode . Our lately deceased , much

esteemed , and lamented Comp . Maxon was a man , kind , benevolent , and virtuous , generous in disposition , sincere in his profession , honourable , truthful , and just in all his transactions ; a worthy , zealous , and indefatigable Mason , careful and exact in the performance of his duties in the Chapter , anxious to acquire Masonic knowledge , but still more willing to impart it . Comps ., in consideration of these Masonic virtues , which our late Comp . possessed , I call upon you to drink to the memory of our deceased Comp . in solemn silence , and let us indulge

the hope that our loss has proved his inexpressible gain . The usual Masonic toasts having been given , the M . E .
