Bart ., M . P ., Prov . G . M ., at dinner ; and also to celebrate the anniversary of St . John . About fifty gentlemen were present . The chairman , in proposing the health of the guest of the evening , said that he did not do so as Lord of the Manor , or as Member of Parliament for the County , but as Provincial Grand Master . Sir Michael , in replying , said that the position of a Member of Parliament was a highly honourable one , and that circumstances had placed him in a high position otherwise ; but he was glad that in neither of those capacities had his health been proposed , as it afforded him much greater pleasure to be received as a Brother and a Mason . During the course of the evening a number of deputations were received from neighbouring Lodges , to congratulate the Cumberland Kilwinning on the return of the festive eve of St . John .

STORNAWAY . Port Rose Lodge ( No . 108 ) . —It having been considered impossible to settle the annual accounts , elect Office-bearers , and enjoy the Festival of St . John ' s Day ( which occurred on Saturday ) , without encroaching on Sunday morning , the 3 £ . W . M . and Brethren unanimously resolved to hold their meeting on Triday , 26 th Dec . Accordingly the Brethren met at 11 o ' clock a . m . ; the Lodge was regularly constituted and opened , and the roll called . The funds have so much increased , that the debt against the Lodge is now greatly reduced , and a saving of the funds for the relief of the widows and orphans of deceased members is likely to be the result . The Lodge was opened as a Master Mason Lodge for the election of Office-bearers for the ensuing year . The business of the day having been thus finished , the Brethren spent the evening in brotherly love and harmony .

NORTH MUNSTEB ,. Limerick . —Union Lodge ( No . 13 ) . —This Lodge met at high noon on 27 th December , when the Prov . G . M ., M . Furnell , Thirty-third Degree , not only installed the Officers , viz ., Bros . 0 . Bagnell , W . M ., J . Russell , S . W ., and Barrington , J . W ., but passed and raised Bro . Smyth , of the Artillery ; also several worthy Brothers were affiliated , and at seven o ' clock a reunion , worthy that ancient and respectable Lodge , came off at their Hall , Thomas-street .

Newcastle West . —Desmond Lodge ( No . 202 ) . —On Saturday , December 27 th , the Brethren assembled in their Templar's Hall , -which is now restored in all the simplicity and severity of the Mediaeval Age , to celebrate the festival of the patron of Masonry , St . John . This hall is perhaps the only evidence that these celebrated warriors of the cross , the Knights Templar , had a preceptory in this county . The installation of Officers , for the ensuing six months placed Bros . Mills , as W . M . John Palmer , S . W . ; Supple , J . W . ; England Young , S . D . ; Palmer and Evans ,

Sec . and Treas . A gentleman was then initiated in a very able and impressive manner by Bro . Dr . Persse , P . M ., and Lodge was adjourned until six o ' clock , when twenty-five members assembled to partake of as well-served a banquet as could be desired . After the dinner—at which Bro . P . M . Curling , J . P ., presided , at the request of Bro . Mills , who was unavoidably absent on urgent duty—the usual loyal and charter toasts were given , prefaced from the chair in a very happy and dignified manner . Bro . Supple presided at the piano , and assisted by Bro . II . M . Qnin on the flute , delighted the Brethren with some
