ROYAL MASONIC INSTITUTION FOR BOYS . July 13 th . —A General Court ivas held this day , at Avhich Mr . Moore presided , and Avas AA'ell attended . Messrs . Gilbert " and O . Thiselton were appointed scrutineers for the Ballot , AA'hich then commenced for the Election of Four Children . The folloAA'ing Avere declared the successful Candidates : —
Charles Butt , I W . D . Thomas , C . J . Robinson , | W . P . Burdwood . The Committee for conducting the affairs of the Charity , for the ensuing tAvelve months , Avas the same as last year . " W . R . G . Key , Avere elected in place of Messrs . Barnes , Messrs . Rodgers , and " Bickford , " Richards . " Broadfoot , It Avas resolved unanimously , that the usual Advertisements required by the Institution be for the future inserted in the Freemasons ' Quarterly RevieiA" . GRAND MASONIC AQUATIC EXCURSION .
July 22 nd . The Eleventh AnniA'evsary of the Aquatic Excursion to Chatham , in aid of the Funds for providing Clothing and Education for Sons of Masons , took place this day . That very commodious steamer , the Albion , was selected by the Committee to convey the company to the place of destination , and at half-past eight o ' clock in the mornino- the signal gun AA'as fired by order of the Veteran Brother J . J . H . Coe—the moorings Avere let goand the vessel started on its trito the MediA'
, p ay she glided down the river , and slowly threaded her AA'ay through the forest of masts that environed her course , the band of music that Avas in attendance playing Masonic and other airs as she went , Avhilst the hearts of many on board beat quick , in anticipation of the further enjoyments that aAvaited them . After , in some measure , clearing the multitudinous obstacles Avhich had impeded her progress , the propelling poAver of the steamer was increased , and she then , though not a swift boatwalked at reasonable rateThe
