led to Lutzen , Bautzen , Dresden , Leipsic , and Hanau , where he covered himself with glory . During the campaign of 1814 , he fought constantly and with honour up to the very Avails of Paris . His political and military part , has since been insignificant , although he occupied different hi gh posts in turn . A Peer of the Hundred Days , he lost that dignity under the Restoration , but was created a peer in 1819 .
After the Revolution of July , he ivas nominated Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honour , and afterwards , toivavds the end of 1 S 34 , Presisident of the Council and Minister of War , eminent posts Avhich he retained but a very short time . As a Freemason , the deceased marshal uniformly supported the principles of the Order , and several instances ha A'e occurred in which the fiercer arm of war Avas arrested by his Masonic duty . among the number of the elite of the Brethren with whom the late emperor Napoleon was in the habit , of associating at a private Lodge in the Tuilleries , and since his death was much looked up to by the Order of which he Avas one of the principal dignitaries .

FALMOUTH . —The Editor acknoAvledges the receipt of a communication from this Toivn ; but his kind Correspondent will observe that the particulars of the " Lander Pillar , " are so essentiall y the same in fact , that it is unnecessary to insert them . The information , however , that the Lodges are working Avell is gratif ying ; and ive trust to be favoured with some particulars hereafter . The excellent Sermon preached at Bodmin , on the 11 th July , 1832 ,

We shall treasure up these subject matters for a future paper , Avhercm Ave shall place before our readers , some proofs of the zeal of our provincial brethren , that may not be generally knoAvn to them . The suggestion , that the Reverend Brethren in the provinces mi ght alone raise funds for the " Old Mason ' s House , " is too valuable to ° be disregarded .
