We are able to state that the Earl of Carnarvon has consented to serve the office of the Steward for both the Boys' and Girls' festivals in the ensuing year . We trust his lordship will not forget the great want the Benevolent Institution has for support . " Beaufort Lodge" ( No . 120 ) , Bristol . —The annual festival of this Lodge will be held at Bro . Giles ' s , Saracen ' s Head Hotel , under the presidency of Bro . W . H . Bowden , oil the 16 th inst . "P . G . "—We cannot insert the advertisement .
A Jersey Brother is informed , the portrait of the Bight Hon . the Earl of Yarborough , D . G . M ., may be had of Bro . Spencer , the Masonic publisher . " Ifquirer " is referred to page 388 of Dr . Oliver's " Revelations of a Square , " for particulars and engraving of the medal struck in commemoration of the appointment of " The Prince of Wales" as Grand Master of Craft Masonry , and of " The Duke of Clarence" as Grand Principal of the Boyal Arch .
"Bro . Leonard . "—We cordially thank Bro . Leonard for his valuable parcel of American Masonic intelligence , selections from which shall be made so soon as opportunity allows . Some of the communications are very important . Our Colonial contemporary , the Canadian Masonic Pioneer , complains that the subscribers in Montreal have not received the Freemasons' Magazine and Masonic Mirror for the last six months . The fault must rest with the booksellers through whom they are served .
"M . N . O . "—It is competent and legal for the W . M . to call upon any Brother to assist him in performing the ceremony of a Degree , but in all cases the Master must retain his chair . " Mark Masonry . "—We are informed that the Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland , at its last meeting , agreed to issue two Charters for the practice of the Mark Degree in England ; but no notice of such business having been transacted appears in our report of the proceedings . We have not heard to whom Charter No . 2 was granted : but it is stated , that three of the Brethren of the
London Bon-Accord , having made their submission to the Grand Chapter of Scotland , are to have No . 3—the meetings of which will be held at Radley ' s Hotel .
