Grand Lodge was held in the Lodgo room of the Cherwell Lodge ( No . 873 ) , attached to the Red Lion Hotel , Banbury , which had been handsomely decorated for the occasion . Talbot was invested with the charity jewel presented by the province to the brother who serves the office of Steward at the festival . All business being ended , the Lodge was closed in due form and harmony .

Tin : BANQUET . At five o'clock the brethren reassembled at a very elegant banquet , which was served with great taste . On the removal of the cloth , The R . AV . Prov . Grand Alaster said , that the first toast which he had to propose was one which required no words to recommend it to their notice , being " The health of the Queen . " Amongst Masons loyalty was not only a virtue but a necessity , an I

at a time when they knew not how soon they mig ht be called upon to defend her throne , her honour , and tho country , he was sure it would not lie received with less cordiality than it had ever been . ( Cheers ) . The R . AV . Prov . Grand Master said , that the next toast was one of the greatest interest . It was the health of one who had devoted his time and his talents to advancing the interest of Freemasonry , and had endeared himself by his kindness , courtesy , and gentlemanlike bearing to every brother with whom he came in contact . He proposed to them "The health ' of the M . AV , Grand Master , the Right Hon . the Earl of Zetland . " ( Cheers ) .
