The Jewel was presented by Bro . Hervey , who , in a very eloquent and feeling address , allude ^ , to Bro . Hopwood's long and faithful services as a Mason ; to which Bro . Hopwood replied in words expressive of his gratification and his great attachment to Masonry , and the Royal York Lodge in particular . Bro . Hopwood's address was frequently interrupted by the enthusiastic Cheers of the Brethren assembled . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given and responded

to , and the Brethren separated at eleven o ' clock , highly delighted with the proceedings of the evening . Bro . Hervey appointed Bro . Levinson , S . W . ; and Bro . Norris J . W . Albion Lodge ( No . 9 ) . —This Lodge held its installation meeting on the 1 st January , when Bro . Rackstraw , P . M ., most ably installed Bro . C . J . Wood , as W . M . for the ensuing year , who invested the following Brethren as his officers , viz ., Bros . Perryman , S . W . ; Frend , J . W . ; Hughes , S . D . ; Houghton , J . D . :

Giovannelli , I . G . The other business consisted of one initiation and one raising . The Lodge being closed , the members adjourned to the banquet , and spent a very harmonious evening . Enoch Lodge ( No . 11 ) . —This numerous and distinguished Lodge met at the "Freemasons' Tavern on Wednesday , January 9 tb . A Brother was raised to the Third Degree , and two passed to the Second Degree . Bro . Binckes , the W . M .

for the ensuing year , was installed into the chair by the P . M . and Sec . Bro . Matthews , in that able manner for which he is so much distinguished . The W . M . appointed the following officers : —W . S ., Masterman , S . W . ; B . Austin , J . W . ; P . Matthews , Sec . ; W . Williams , Treas . ; R . Temple , Dir . of C . ; James Pain , S . D . ; W . H . German , J . D . ; Geo . Sewell , I . G . ; and John Crawley , T . Above fifty of the Brethren afterwards assembled at the banquet-table , where

a most elegant entertainment was served . The visitors were Bros . White , G . S . ; Bagshaw , P . G . M ., Essex ; Marsh and Paas , No . 30 ; Spencer , No . 91 ; Stephen B . Wilson , No . 147 ; Barrett , No . 212 ; Wordley , No . 902 ; and Jones , late No . 3 . The vocal power was strong , including the names of Donald King , T . Young , Lowick , Edney , Jones , & c , ail of whom contributed in no small degree to the enjoyment of a delightful evening . Lodge of Fobtttude and Old Cqmberla . nd ( No . 12 ) . —This Lodge met on the 14 th January , under the presidency of the W . M . Bro . Donald King . There was no Masonic business of any importance . At the conclusion of the banquet the usual toasts were gone through ; after which the W . M . presented Bro . P . M . Louis Meunier with a handsome P . M . jewel , at the same time proposing his health , and thanking him for the services rendered by him to the Lodge . Bro . Meunier returned thanks in a very neat speech . The Brethren also presented Bro . P . M . Geo . Marriott with a very superb gold ring , for which Bro . Marriott returned his sincere thanks . Bro . King contributed much to the enjoyment of the evening by his excellent singing .

Tuscan Lodge ( No . 14 ) . —Bro . Henry Lee was installed W . M . by Bro . Moxon , P . M ., on the 22 nd Jan . : Bro . Glover was appointed S . W ., and Bro . Grissell J . W . A Brother was passed to the 2 nd Degree , and some other business transacted . Nearly fifty of the Brethren dined together . Bros . Ransford , Fielding , and Holmes , aided in the enjoyment of the evening .

Globe Lodge ( No . 23 ) . —This Lodge met at the Freemasons' Tavern oli Thursday , January 17 th , when the W . M . Bro . Humphrey most ably raised Bros . Miller and Haines to the Third Degree . The Sec . Bro . Blackburn , P . M ., then installed , with his accustomed ability , the W . M . elect , Bro . G . S . Brandon , who proceeded to invest his officers for the ensuing year . Bros . Goodman , S . W . : J .

Ponsford , J . W . ; Hewlett , P . M . Treas . ; Blackburn , P . M . Sec . ; G . Oliver , S . D . ; A . Scheidel , J . D . ; llebbeck , I . G . ; E . W . Plowright , Dir . of C . Tho newlymade W . M . then proved himself worthy of the dignity conferred upon him by the choice of the Brethren , by the masterly manner in which he initiated his brother , Mr . F . M . Brandon , Mr . E . K . Harris , and M . Albert Poinded . The Lodge was then closed , and the Brethren partook of a very-elegant dinner , and song and
