Old King ' s Arms Chapter ( No . 30 ) . —At a convocation of this Chapter , on the 7 th January , Comp . Goring acting as Z ., Bro . Phillips , of No . 30 , and Bro . T . Jackson , of No . 40 , were duly exalted into the Royal Arch . Domatic Chapter ( No . 206 ) . —This Chapter met on Thursday , January 24 th , at
the Falcon Chambers , Fetter Lane , Comp . Selig , P . Z ., presiding , Bro . Tyfrel , W . M ., No . 168 , and Bro . Morris , of the Lodge at St . Helena , were exalted to the Sublime Degree of the Royal Arch . The Companions then proceeded to elect
officers for the ensuing year , and with great unanimity selected Comps . Buss , M . E . Z . ; Thos . A . Adams , H . ; Thompson , J . ; Child , E . ; Shury , N . ; Odel , P . S . ; Josh . Smith , Treas . ; and W . Smith , Jan ., after which , the Companions proceeded to an excellent banquet . When the usual loyal and Masonic toasts had been given , the M . E . Z . proposed the health of the newly exalted Companions , thanking them for having selected this Chapter , and hoped that , although Comp . _ -- - _ _ — J- , r _— __ .., £ , __ Jr .
Morris was about to leave the country immediately for St . Helena , -he would go impressed with the beauties of the Order , and at no very far distant period the Companions would have the pleasure of seeing him again in the Chapter . The M . E . Z . then proposed the health of Comp . Crawley , P . Z ., No . 25 , and expressed the great pleasure felt by the Companions in seeing him as a visitor , he having rendered so much valuable assistance to the Order in teaching the ceremonies of Royal Arch Masonry , and he hoped that Companion would not fail in repeating
his visit on the next night of meeting . Comp . Crawley , in return , expressed the great pleasure he felt in visiting the Chapter . Although he had been prevented by business from taking advantage of several kind invitations , he had not been unmindful of its interests by giving instruction to the rising officers . He had taught Royal Arch Masonry for fifteen years , and never felt more happy than in giving instruction to those who sought it . Comp . Smith , in proposing the health of the M . E . Z ., expressed the thanks of the Chapter for the kind and able
manner in which he had presided on this occasion , and also during his year of office , and felt satisfied that to his ability , in a great measure , were to be attributed the present unanimity and prosperity . Comp . Selig , after returning thanks , proposed the health of Comp . Buss , M . E . Z . elect , and expressed himself satisfied , from the manner he had hitherto discharged his duties , that the Companions would not regret the choice they had made . He then proposed the healths of Comps . Adams , H ., and Thompson , J . elect , feeling equally assured of their efficient discharge of the duties of the offices to which they were elected . After proposing
the healths of the Past Principals , to which Comp . Chapman responded , the M . E . Z ., with much feeling , called upon the Companions to drink to the memory of Comp . Quiverlard , who had lately departed this life , and whose many virtues had endeared him to the Chapter . The toast was drunk in solemn silence . He then proposed the health of Comp . Smith , Treas ., thanking him for the able manner in which be discharged the duties of the office . After a suitable reply from Comp . Smith , he proposed the health of the officers , which was duly responded to .
Jerusalem Chapter ( No . 218 ) . —The members of this Chapter met at the Bridge House Hotel , Southwark , on Tuesday , January 8 ; Comp . Scambler , M . E . Z . presiding . The Brethren proposed for exaltation not being in attendance , the business was merely of a formal nature . At its conclusion , the Companions retired to refreshment . Comp . Spooner , No . 169 , was the only visitor present .
