speech followed in quick succession . The harmony of the evening was contributed by Bros . Fielding , Geo . Perren , and Leffler . Bobert Burns' Lodge ( No . 25 ) . —At the meeting of this Lodge on the 8 th January , Bro . Le Gassick was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , the ceremony

being performed by Bro . Wm . Watson , P . M . The officers appointed were Bros . Clements , S . W . ; Bennett , J . W . ; Parmer , S . D . ; Neate , J . D . ; J . 11 . Warren , I . G . ; Prevett , Dir . of G . Bro . Schaller , a young Mason of only nine months ' standing , by one of those freaks peculiar to Masters of this Lodge , was appointed Secretary , to the exclusion of an old P . M ., who has long served the Lodge assiduously and well .

Egyptian Lodge ( No . 29 ) . —On Thursday the 3 rd of January , the members of this excellent Lodge met at the George and Blue Boar , High Holborn , when , after the raising of a Brother to the Third Degree , the ceremony of installing Bro . Dudden as W . M . for the present year was ably performed by Bro . John Savage , assisted by a board of Installed Masters , consisting of Bros . Goring , Todd , Buss , Speight , Molloy , Bohn , Boughton , & c . & c . At the conclusion of Masonic business the Brethren retired to refreshment , and the evening was spent in perfect harmony .

Old King ' s Arms Lodge ( No . 30 ) . —At the monthly meetin g of this Lodge , on Monday , January 28 , the W . M . elect , Bro . Paas , was duly installed into the chair by Bro . Goring , P . M ., No . 25 . The following were appointed Officers : —Bros . Wm . Croft , S . W . ; J . ' G . Marsh , J . W ; F , Playford , S . D . ; G . Gurney , J . D . ; Ed . Philips , I . G . A Brother was raised to the 3 rd Degree ; and the Masonic business having been brought to a close , the Brethren adjourned to dinner , and a number of appropriate toasts were drunk , interspersed by some excellent singing , by Bros , Smytbson , Holmes , and Williams .

Mount Moriah Lodge ( No . 40 ) . —The Brethren of this Lodge met together on the 23 rd January , when the W . M ., Bro . Artis , initiated a candidate ( Mr . Patient ) into the Order . Bro . Bussell was afterwards installed as W . M . by Bro . W . H . Absolon , P . M . Bro . Bussell invested Bros . John Absolon as S . W . ; W . G . L . Brune , J . W . ; Ed . Ellwood , Treas . Lodge of Prosperity ( No . 78 ) . —This Lodge met on the 18 th inst ., when the W . M . Bro . Weeks initiated a gentleman into the Order with his usual ability

The Brethren then proceeded to the election of a W . M . for the ensuing year , when Bro . Thomas , J . W ., was elected . Bro . Day , Treas ., being desirous of taking some office in the working of the Lodge , resigned the treasurership , when Bro . Weeks , the present Master , was unanimously elected . Bro . Lehaman then proposed , and Bro . Day seconded the proposition , " That , in consideration of the zealous attention that Bro . , Weeks has bestowed on the Lodge , and so ably discharged the duties as W . M ., a P . M . Jewel be presented to him from the

Lodge Funds as a small acknowledgment of those services . " Several Brethren expressed a desire , as a further token of the high estimation in which Bro . Weeks is deservedly held , to present him with a testimonial worthy of his acceptance , to mark their appreciation of his having been instrumental in raising the Lodge to its present satisfactory position . The kind and generous feelings he lias always shuwn to the Brethren , and the many sterling qualities he possesses , have been fully exhibited in the Lodge of Prosperity : no Brother can be held in higher estimation in a Lodge than is Bro . Weeks .

Vitrovian Lodgk , No . 103 .- —At the last regular meeting of this excellent Lodge , on the 9 th ult ., Bro . II . Maudsl ay ^ W . M ., in the chnir , there was rather more than an average attendance of the Brethren in consequence of the Installation . Two Brethren having been passed and one raised , the chair was taken by Bro . P . M .. Pisher , who proceeded with the Installation of Bro . W . Cherry , the W . M . elect . In performing the ancient and interesting ceremony , the worthy P .
