disposition of Offices being complete , at the closing of the Lodge , Bro . P . M . H . Maudslay thariked the Brethren for their zealous co-operation during his year of office , which presented one of the most agreeable recollections of his life . He should ever remember with pleasure that he had passed the chair in the Vitruvian Lodge , and he trusted they would permit him to present the Lodge with a snufF-box , as a small memorial of the esteem in which he held the Brethren . It

would afford him much happiness in knowing that , in after times , when he might not be with them , its presence would be the means of perpetuating their friendship . He rejoiced that they had elected his esteemed friend Bro . Cherry as their present Master , and was sure they could not have chosen one more deserving . He had known him in business as well as in Masonry for many years , and he was satisfied they would not ; regret the choice they had made . He then stated that he had presented a petition to the Lodge of Benevolence , on behalf of their afflicted

Bro . Mitchell , which had been very well received . They had awarded him £ 15 . This he ( Bro . Maudslay ) proposed should be given to him in weekly payments , seeing his helpless condition . He should , with their permission , make a further appeal to their fraternal feelings , to which he doubted not they would respond from their knowledge of the necessity and emergency of the case , which he need hardly say , was a deserving one . He then received the subscriptions of the Brethren , amounting to £ 3 . 15 s . The Lodge being closed in due form , the Brethren partook of a

banquet , served up in Bro . Heppel ' s usual style of excellence . The toasts suitable for the occasion were drunk in a very Masonic spirit , and the Brethren departed at a late hour in harmony and peace . The gift presented by P . M . Maudslay is an elegantly-chased silver-gilt snuff-box , and bears the following inscription : — " Presented to the Yitruvian Lodge , No .-103 , by Henry Maudslay , P . M ., as a token of esteem and regard on the Installation of William Cherry , S . W . as W . M ., 9 th January , 1856 . "

Lodge oe Regularity ( No . 108 ) . —The Brethren of this Lodge met at the Freemasons' Tavern on Thursday , January 10 th . It being the day for election of officers , Bro . Albertz , S . W ., was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing year , and Bro . McCallan re-elected Treas . Eastern Star Lodge ( No . 112 ) . —At a numerous meeting of this Lodge , on

Wednesday , January 9 th , Bro . Edward Unwin Gardner , S . D ., was unanimously elected Master ; and the W . Bro . W . Wentworth Davis , P . M ., as Treasurer for the ensuing year . Under such auspices we feel assured the Brethren will find the prosperity of the most eastern Lodge of our great metropolis increase . We intend to be present at the Installation of the Master elect in February to witness a most happy meeting of our Brethren of the east .

London" Lodge ( No . 125 ) . —The Brethren of this Lodge met together on the 5 th January , when Bro . Stewart was ably installed as W . M ., the ceremony being performed by Bro . Stephen Barton Wilson . The W . M . appointed Bros . Dr . Beaumont , S . W . ; and Bichards , J . W . A Brother was raised to the 3 rd Degree , and other business transacted ; after which the , Brethren adjourned to refreshment . The professionals present were Bros . Lowick , G . P . Taylor , and the Misses Taylor .

Lodge of St . George ( No . 164 ) . —Wednesday , January 16 th , being the day for the annual meeting and banquet for the Installation of W . M ., a full muster of Brethren attended this Lodge at the Trafalgar Tavern , Greenwich . In the course of the evening , Bros . Peter Laird , P . M ., No . 13 , and Chris . Brown , No . 118 , were unanimously accepted as joining members ; Jno . Bristed passed to the honourable distinction of Fellow Craft , and Mr . Stephen Bartlett was duly initiated .

These ceremonies w ere most ably performed by Bro . Jas . A . Moore , P . M . Subsequently , the Lodge having been opened in the proper degree , Bro . Edward Stephen Hogg was regularly installed W . M . for the ensuing year , in a most admirable and impressive manner , by Bro . J . S . Turner , P . M ., and thereupon appointed the following Brethren as his officers : —Bros . Jno . Townsend , S . W . ; J . Figg Wright , J . W . ; Edward Trafford , S . D . ; Sept . Bobinson , J . D . ; Edward L . Hay ward , I . G . ; J . S . Turner , P . M . Sec . It was afterwards unanimously
