Peace , harmony , and brotherly love characterized the proceedings throughout the day . It was stated in the Treasurer ' s report , or rather from an abstract of the accounts , that the Union Lodge , No . 149 , possessed a reserve fund in the Savings Bank of £ 130 , a circumstance almost

unprecedented amongst Lodges whether held in London or the Provinces . It is well known that this Lodge is a liberal subscriber to all the charities ; and we are assured it is anxious to see the Boys' School completed in the present year , and has sincei ^ e hopes the Lodges in Provinces will subscribe liberally towards its support , as , in its present state of inefficiency , it is hardly possible the hoys can receive that useful education they would imbibe if they were all placed under one building , where such examinations might take jdace as would produce great ambition amongst the children .
