H . Hayes and H . Gregson , Stewards ; B . Greaves , Org . ; Jos . Travis , I . G . ; and U . Shaw , Tyler . At the conclusion of the business , the Brethren partook of a splendid banquet prepared for the occasion , and the evening—enlivened by various songs , glees , & c , by the members of the " Lancashire Choral Union "—was spent in a very harmonious and pleasant

manner . LINCOLNSHIRE . Boston . —Lodge of Harmony ( No . 339 ) . —At the monthly meeting , on the 11 th of December , the Secretary read a communication that had been received by the W . M . from the Bight Hon . Lord Yarborough , B . G . M . of England , and Prov . G , M . of Lincolnshire , expressing his Lordship ' s thanks to the Brethren for their

sympathy during his recent illness , and their congratulations on his recovery . His Lordship ' s communication ^ which evinced his truly Masonic love to the Craft , was ordered to be entered upon the minutes of the Lodge . Bro . George Jackson was unanimously elected , by ballot , W . M . of the Lodge , for the year ensuing : and Bro . Daniel Jackson , P . M . was also unanimously re-elected Tr . The Lodge then adjourned to St . John ' s Day , for the installation of the W . M .

A Lodge of Emergency , called in compliance with the Book of Constitutions , was opened on the 15 th of December last ( 1855 ) , at which a candidate was proposed , elected by ballot , and initiated into the mysteries of the First Degree . The rite of initiation was performed by Bro . Greenwood , P . M ., as W . M ., in a very able and impressive manner . The cause of emergency was the sudden departure of the candidate for China .

On Thursday , the 27 th of December , 1855 , the Brethren and Bellows of this Lodge met by adjournment , when , the minutes having been confirmed , the chaste and beautiful ceremony of installation of the W . M . elect was performed . Bro . Tuxford , P . M ., presented Bro . Jackson to Bro . Greenwood , B . M . of No . 339 , the Installing Master , Bro . Keller , P . G . Org ., presiding at the harmonium in his accustomed masterly manner . After the installation , the W . M . appointed his officers , and invested them with the ensigns of office , as follows : — -Bro . W .

M . Smith , S . W . ; Bro . Roberts , J . W . ; Bro . Daniel Jackson , B . M ., Tr . ; Bro . Close , Sec ; Bro . Edward Jackson , S . D . ; Bro . Waghorn , J . D . ; Bro . Howell ; P . M . I . G . ; and Bro . Clayton was unanimously re elected T . The Lodge was then closed , and the Brethren , numbering upwards of thirty , including the W . M . of the Hundred of Elbe Lodge and several distant Brethren of the Lodge ,

retired to the banquet provided by the Bros . Jackson , at the Beaeock Inn , when the usual Masonic toasts were given , and a variety of songs and glees sung , by the Brethren , Bro . Keller presiding at the piano . The meeting was most important , and the Brethren appeared determined to show to the visitors that their Lodge should be , not only in name , but in reality , a Lodge of harmony , for "

Harmony alone reigned there . During the past year a rigid economy has been adhered to in the management of the Lodge Funds ; all banquets and other refreshments being at the cost of the individual members . This has not only enabled the Lodge to subscribe to the Boys and Girls' School and the Boyal Benevolent Institution for Decayed

Masons and their Widows , but to contribute to other charitable purposes ; a balance of about £ 30 remaining in tho hands of the Tr . The celebration of the accustomed rites is equal to any Lodge , either in London or the Provinces ; and if Lodges of instruction were hold , to work up tho lectures and extend instruction in the sciences of geometry , architecture , & c ,
