The surplus proceeds , amounting to £ 15 , will be appropriated to the building fund of the'boys' school—an urgent appeal in favour of that object having been received from Bro . John Hervey , Y . B . of the institution .

SUFFOLK . Ipswich . — Perfect Friendship Lodge ( No . 522 ) . —At the usual monthly meeting of this Lodge , "held . at the White Horse Hotel , on Wednesday , the 19 th of December , Bro . Edward Dorling , P . G . Sec . for Suffolk , was installed W . M . The ceremony was impressively performed by Bro . P . M . Nathaniel Tracy ; but we were sorry to observe so small a board of installed Masters , the Lodge having no less than twenty P . M . subscribing members , many being absent through sickness .

This Lodge had a grand day on the Festival of St . John ' s ( Bee . 27 ) , when an unusually large number of Brethren assembled to do honour to their worthy Master . Amongst the visitors were Bros . R . J . Bagshaw , the Prov . G . M . of Essex , with several Brethren of the Star in the East Lodge , held at Harwich ; P . M . Cooper , of the Old Dundee Lodge , London ; W . L . Fox , W . M ., of No . 100 , Harleston , Norfolk , accompanied by his J . W ., Bro . Thomas Cook , Lodge No . 66 ; and Brethren of the following Lodges in the Province , viz . —St . Luke ' s , No . 272 ; Yirtue and Silence , No . 417 ; British Union , No . 131 ; Phoenix , No . 757 ; and twelve P . M . s of No . 522 .

After the usual loyal toasts , the health of Bro . Bagshawe , the P . G . 'M . for Essex , was proposed by the W . M . The R . W . Brother , having been saluted with high honours , rose , and said , — " I should he most ungrateful if I did not at once convey to you my warmest acknowledgment and thanks , knowing , as I do , and as yourselves see , that I bear this night marks of esteem and respect paid me in the Masonic situation which I have the honour to hold . I can assure you that , in my long Masonic career , I have seen a great deal of Freemasonry , and have visited a great number of Lodges ; but on no occasion have I been more delighted than from what I have witnessed

here this evening . Brethren , I will not longer detain you than to express once more my warmest thanks for your kindness , and to assure you that I wish each and every one of you health and happiness . " The health of the newly-installed Master ; of Bro . Nathaniel Tracy , P . M . ; of the past and present P . G . Gfficers ; of P . M . Cooper , of the old Dundee Lodge , No . 13 , with thanks to him for having travelled seventy miles to do honour to the members of P . F . L . ; prosperity to the W . M . and Brethren of No . 100 ; and other toasts were duly honoured .

During the evening , the enjoyment of the Brethren was very greatly enhanced by songs from Bro . Bowles , P . G . Org . ; Bros . Turner , Pettit , Fox , Crispin , & c . ; and the Brethren did not leave the festive board till full nigh twelve .

SUBREY . Richmond . — Lodge of Harmony ( No . 317 ) . —This Lodge held their usual meeting on Tuesday the 22 nd January , when the Hon . Charles Stuart Aubray Ahbott was initiated into the Order . Bro . Harrison Chilton was duly installed as W . M ., and appointed the following Brethren as his officers : —Bros . Rev . Wentworth Bowyer , S . W . ; Babington , J . W . ; A . Clark , S . D . ; Hugh W . Smith , J . D . ; Stone , I . G . Bro . G . B . Cole , P . M ., was invested as Treasurer , and Bro . Gordon Clark as Secretary .

SUSSEX . Brighton . —Royod Clarence Lodge ( No . 338 ) . —A Lodge of Emergency was held on Thursday , January 17 th , for the purpose of raining" four Brethren to the degree of M . M . The usual monthly meeting was held on Friday the 18 th . We regret that illness prevented Bro . SinitherH , the W . M . elect , from attending ; his installation will therefore take place on the third Friday in February . We are certain it will afford very great pleasure to the members of the Royal Clarence Lodge to bo enabled to state that their esteemed W . M . elect will in a few days be quite "himself again . "
