Morris , P . M ., with the Treasurer and Secretary , were appointed to see the same carried out . ? -TThe banquet , which was served up by Bro . Roberts in his usual excellent way , was attended by Bro . the Rev . E . A . Gwynne , W . M . of 435 , and Bro . T .

Thompson ; , of 838 , as visitors . We should fail in giving full force to the witticisms of the W . M ., who is allowed to the best wholesale and extempore manufacturer of wit and humour in the province . This , however , does not destroy the good feeling of the man , or else he could never have endorsed the toast to the speedy convalescence of Bro . Cook , P . Nothing further offering , & c , the Lodge was closed in due form , and the Brethren adjourned to banquet , from which they separated at an early hour , in perfect harmony .

We may briefly add that , in addition to the customary toasts , the W . M . proposed the health of Bro . Wainwright , P . M ., to whom he referred in terms of great regard , the worthy W . M . having been first placed in office hy him , and the Lodge having been better attended during his year of office than since that period , —a fact to be attributed to the urbane and brotherly spirit by which he drew to him both Officers and members . Bro . Wainwright , in responding ,

assured the Brethren that he should always endeavour to assist them , and aid in preserving the ties of brotherly love which bound them together . The candidate , or newly initiated Brother , replied to the principal toast of the evening , in modest , but truthful language , and proposed , by permission , that of Bro . Bateman , P .
