At the Board of Benevolence , on 20 th October £ 92 were granted amongst eight petitioners ; and one petitioner , a widow , recommended by Lodge ' No . 630 , was recommended to Grand Lodge for £ 50 . ] A Pjrov . Grand Chapter for West Yorkshire is summoned to be held at Dewsbury , on the 3 rd : ;^ 6 y 0 tober r / at- 'four / o ' clock . Tea is to be provided at six o'clock , for such Breifcren as wish to partake of it . A Prov . Grand Lodge is to be held at Oxford to-day , to take into consideration the following proposition of the R . W . Prov . G . M . Bro , Henry Atkins Bowyer : —
" This Provincial Grand Lodge desires to express its sympathy with the M . W . Grand Master , the Earl of Zetland , under the groundless personal attack recently made upon him in the Masonic Observer ; and to declare its unabated confidence in his lordship ' s just and impartial administration , as well as its determination to support his lordship in his rightful authority . "
A Committee has been formed , originating with the members of the Crystal Palace Lodge , for the purpose of making arrangements for a Grand Masonic gathering , at the Crystal Palace , in the course of the coming season , for the benefit of the Masonic charities . With good management ^ we have no doubt such a gathering will produce goodly results , though care must be taken not to injure the regular festivals . Thk arrangements have been completed for opening a Lodge of Instruction at Bro . Luce ' s , King ' s Arms Tavern , Hampton Court .
