Ogde % of the Lodge of Friendship , Oldham , was then elected a joining member . On the motion of Bro . Brett , it was unanimously agreed to give £ 10 from the funds of this Lodge to the Eoyal Benevolent Institution for Freemasons' Widows , which makes this Lodge of Instruction governor of three out of four of our charitable institutions . It was also resolved , on the motion of Bro . Anslow , to divide the votes for the school , as follows : to the son of the late Bro . Crocker , 8 votes ; of Bro . Story , 4 ; and of Bro . Bagley , 4 .
Yabboboxtgii Lodge ( No . 812 ) .---The annual festival of this Lodge was held on Tuesday , September 28 th , at Bro . Williams ' s , George Hotel , Commercial-road-east ; present , —Bro . James Kindred , W . M . ; Bro . B ^ ead , S . W . ; Bro . Winn , J . W ., and thirty other Brethren . The" report gave a most satisfactory assurance of the increasing prosperity and usefulness of this Lodge of Instruction , which for the benefit of the numerous members of the maritime service admitted iiito Masonry by the parent Lodge , meets every Tuesday evening throughout the year . It is always well attended , twenty being the average number present . Through this Lodge , Brethren belonging to the commercial navy have a good opportunity of
learning our ritual and fitting themselves for a good reception into Lodges in distant parts of the world . We were much gratified to learn from a Brother who had recently returned from the Cape , that the working of Masonry there , both in English and Dutch Lodges , was not excelled even by London Lodges . Camden Lodge ( No . 1006 ) . —The anniversary festival of this Lodge of Instruction took place on Wednesday , Sept 29 th , at Bro . Creech ' s Assembly Rooms , Kentish Town , nearly forty brethren being present . ' Bro . W . Watson presided as W . M .
assisted by Bro . Tyrrell ( W . M . of the parent Lodge ) , as § JW . and by Bro . T . Adams , as J . W . The Lodge having been opened , Bro . Watson put the questions in the first lecture , which were adm rably responded to as follows : —first section , Bro . Parker ; second , Bro . Frost ; third , Bro . Smith ; fourth , Bro . Frost ; fifth , Bro . Best ; sixth , Bro . Tyrrell ; and the seventh by Bro . Adams ; after which the brethren adjourned to a banquet provided by Bro . Creech with great taste . The banquet concluded , the usual loyal toasts were given . The W . M . in proposing the
toast of the evening , " Success to the Camden Lodge of Instruction , and Freemasonry in general / ' urged the brethren to bear in mind the true principles of Masonry , u Brotherly love , relief , and truth / ' and by carrying out those principles , render themselves worthy of the great order to which they belonged . No one could be a good Mason without being a good man . Among the other toasts given was one to
Bro . Harris , P . M ., No . 211 ; some complimentary allusions being made upon that brother as the designer of the tracing boards . Bro , Harris , in reply , thanked the brethren , not only for the present compliment , but for their kind assistance at the last election , in placing ^ him on the Annuity Fund , such assistance being more particularly needed since it had pleased the Great Architect to deprive him of the light of day .
