Thistle Lodge—Scottish Constitution ( No . 3 ) . —The members of this Lodge met for the election of R . W . M . for the ensuing year , on Tuesday , Sept . 28 th , at Bro . Queleh ' s , Dick ' s Coffee House , Fleet-street , Bro . Sheen , R . W . M . The business was merely of a formal nature , the advancement of the several candidates being ^ purposely deferred until the next regular meeting of the Lodge ( installation night ) ,
which will be the first Friday in November . The minutes being read and confirmed , the Brethren proceeded to elect a Master , when their choice fell on Bro . Cotterell , D . M . Bros , Smith , Cottebrune , andLoewenstark , were chosen auditors , and a committee , consisting of Bro . Adams , P . R . W . M . ; Bro . Sheen , R . W . M . ; and Bro . Cotterell , R . W . M . elect , was appointed to confer with the other Lodges , on the subject of a communication from the Masters of certain Mark Lodges holding under Scotland , and to report thereon .
PROVINCIAL . Bristol . —Canynges Lodge ( No . 7—holding under Grand Chapter of Scotland . )—The regular meeting of this Lodge took place on Thursday , the 16 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , and was numerously attended . The R . W . M ., Bro . Win . Harris , P . M . and P . Z ., opened the Lodge in clue form at 8 P . M ., when the minutes of the last Lodge having been read and confirmed , he at once called the attention of the Brethren to the particular business referred to in the summonses for the evening , and which was of an interesting and varied character . The first duty he had to
perform that night was one which ^ he said , gave him much pleasure—it was the affiliation of a highly respected Brother to the supreme authority under which they worked and had prospered . It had been his good fortune to preside on several similar occasions during his year of office , but never with greater satisfaction than now , when , with their approbation , he was about to confer the legal privileges of the Mark degree on one so well known and esteemed . The Brother alluded , to
by the R . W . M , was Bro . Edmond Lloyd Bagskawe , P . M ., No . 48 , and W . M . of the Leigh Mark Lodge , Bath , who having been introduced , and complied with the necessary forms -instituted by the Supreme Grand Chapter for such cases , was thereupon declared to have duly confirmed . The example of Bro . Bagshawe is worthy of imitation , as tending by the honourable course of aja inevitable legalization , to smooth the way towards that union , m much to bu desired amongst the
