Bro . Brookes , Prov . G . Steward , rose and observed that , being frequently in communication with the editor of-the ^ he would undertake to forward the document in question , if supplied to him by the Secretary . This was agreed to , and the resolution was accordingly furnished to the Brother for publication .
In the absence of Bro . Nelson , Prov . G , Sec ., who was absent from indisposition , Bro . Gill ( acting as Prov . G . See . ) undertook the task of proposing the resolution of which Bro . Nelson had given notice % t the last meeting , viz ., " That a Committee be appointed to canvass the Lodges and Chapters ^ of the Province , as well as the Brethren generally , on behalf of the Masonic charities , and to take the management of all elections . "
The resolution was seconded by Bro . Bentley Shaw . Some discussion took place , in which several Brethren took part ; and it was at length agreed that in consequence of the absence of Bro . Nelson , the consideration of the question should be postponed . Bro . the Rev . A . P . A . Woodford , P . Prov . S . G . W ., gave notice that at the next Prov . Grand Lodge he should move , " That a charity committee be appointed , consisting of one deputy to be elected from each Lodge in the province annually , to take charge of the interests of the Masonic charities , canvass for subscriptions , and manage the elections . of
Itwasxeso ^ meeting the Prov . Grand Lodge be held at DeWsbury . This concluded the business .
THE BANQUET . In the afternoon , upwards Of sixty Brethren sat down to a banquet provided by Brother Wilkinson , of the Angel Hotel . The chair was taken by Bro . Buxton , W . M ., of the Britannia Lodge , 162 . On his right , sat the D . Prov . G'M ., and on his left Bro . Hopwood . The vice chair was occupied by Bro . Harrison , S . W . 162 . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed from the chair . Bro . Hopwood responded to the toast of the Earl of Zetland and Grand Lodge , and made some
excellent remarks on the subject of the charities . In responding to the toast of the Prov , G . M . and the Prov . Grand Lodge for West Yorkshire ^ Bro . Dr . Fearnley spoke at some length . The health of the Prov . Grand Officer , was replied to by Bro . Gill . The D . Prov . G . M ., after paying a high compliment , proposed Bro . Bailes , the Prov . G . Registrar , whom he described as one of the worthiest Masons that the West Riding ever possessed . The health of the Worshipful Master of the Britannia Lodge was next drunk and respondedi to . Several others followed , and the Brethren spent a very happy evening .

2 £ je y Stone Lodge . —( Under the Leigh Constitution , No . 3 ) . —This ^ Lodge held a meeting of emergency on the 24 th June last , the W . M . Bro . T . '; S . Barringer , P . J . G . D ., having called the Lodge together in consequence often Brethren requesting to be advanced to the degree , when Bros . Sewell , Yenables , Russell , Spratt , and Walls being in attendance , were advanced to the degree of Mark Master . The W . M ; said he had great pleasure in . informing the Lodge that the S . W . and Secretary had
been selected by the Most Worshipful Grand Mark Master ' , Lord Leigh , to fill the office so recently occupied by himself ( the W . M . ) of J . Q . I ) , in Grand Lodge , an appointment which he was sure would meet with the approbation of this Lodge , and he hoped of the whole Craft . The business being over , the Brethren adjourned to a banquet , provided by Bro . Painter . Amongst the visitors were Bro . Lazarus , P . G . Organist , and Bro ., James Cooper . This Lodge also held its regular meeting on the 30 th ult ., Bro . T . S . Barringer V . J . Q . D ., W . M ., in the chair , and Bros ,
