Lodge of Sincerity ( No . 203 ) .- —This Lodge commenced its regular meeting for the season , bri the 20 th instant , at Bro . Wright ' s , Cheshire Cheese Tavern , Crutched FrlarS , Bro . Fentiman , W . M ., presiding , and opening Lodge at the hour named in the summons ; the Officers were all present , including Bro . Knibbs , S . W . ; Bro . Thompson , J . W . ; Bro . G . Spencer , & c . The Worshipful Master was also supported by P . Ms ., Bros . Potts , Bawley , Terry , Hicks , Oman , and Brewer , The minutes of the last meeting being confirmed , a ballot was taken for the admission of Captains Brown and Lakey , who had been well and worthily recommended . The result of
the ballot being satisfactory for the initiation of the gentlemen alluded to , they were admitted in proper form , and received the first regular step in Freemasonry . Bros . Earl were then interrogated , and being found proficient , duly received the second degree . The Worshipful Master here resigned his seat , requesting Bro . Potts to perform the ceremony of raising Bro , Justice to the sublime degree MM . who , with thatKirbanity for which he is famous , immediately undertook the
duty , and conferred that beautiful degree in a manner to make a lasting impression on the recipient . The traditional history was also given by Bro . Potts—an interesting portioil in this degree too often omitted . An excellent banquet succeeded the Lodge business , which gave great satisfaction . Bros . Lazarus , P . Prov . S . Polish National Lodge ( No . 778 ) . —The W . M ., Bro . Viscount Haynham , being from town , Bro . E . Johnstone , P . M ., officiated for him at the meeting of the Lodge on Thursday , 14 th Oct ., when three gentlemen were balloted for , and unanimously elected" . Qapt . Menzies and Herr Derffel being in attendance , were introduced in due form , and initiated into the mysteries of the Order . Fitzroy Lodge ( No . 830 ) . —This military Lodge of Freemasons met for the first time this season at the head quarters of the Eoyal Artillery Company , Finshury , on Friday , Oct . 22 ud . Bro . W . Foster Newton , W . M ., was in tho chair , supported by Bros . Woolterton , and Eglise , P , Ms . ; Capt . Rough , S , W . ; Long , raised to the ublime of the
J W . & c . & c . Bro . Nicole was s degree M . M ., ceremony being very ably performed . At the conclusion of the business the Brethren adiourned to banquet . Bro . Newton , W . M ., by his apt and good humoured remarks , caused happiness and contentment to reign throughout the company . The visitors were Bros . Monies , W . M ., No . 215 ; Wellington Yallance , P . M ., No . 14 . ; Shrewsbury P . M ., Nos . 108 , 463 , & c . ; Count de Montemerli , No . 4 ; Stanborough , No . 229 ' and Georgo Tedder , No . 11 . Bro . W . 'Vallance , in returning thanks for the visitors caused the greatest amusement , and concluded amidst shouts of laughter . Bro . Count de Montemerli followed and returned thanks for the hospitable and ' friendly manner in which he had been received by Englishmen in general ,
and amongst Freemasons in particular ; and concluded by expressing his high estimation oi the English climate , which , with its extremes of heat and cold , was duly appreciated by the majority of his countrymen . Bro . Tedder also delighted the company by singing some of his best songs .
