OR OF THE FREEMASONS' MAGAZINE AND MASONIC MIRROR , Dear Sir ahd BROTiiEU .- ^ My attention has been directed to a speech of Bro .: Head , delivered at the Provincial Grand Lodge of Suffolk , in which he is alleged to have stated that the report which has been circulated
through the Craft by Bros . Lyall , Binckes , and Symonds , relative to the increase of the funds of the Masonic Schools , was not issued by the authority of the respective committees . I beg to say that if Bro . Head attended the meetings of the committees of the schools , as regularly as his friends and those of the charities desire , he would not have fallen ( I am sure quite unintentionally on his part ) into the error he has done .
I may further observe , that I was present at both committees when a formal sanction was given to the promulgation of the report ; and I consider the supporters of the charities are under a deep obligation to the three Brethren before named for the time they have devoted and the energy and * The Book of Constitutions provides for the appointment of such au officer if deemed necessary .
