gone through according to the new ritual by the M . W . Sov . presiding-, ably assisted by the P . Sovs . and Princes above mentioned ; and though many alterations in the decorations had to be made , on the whole the ceremony was conducted to the satisfaction of those present ^ and especially of the venerable Past Sov . Ptmsheon , who was glad to see the ancient landmarks had been preserved in the new ritual . After the ceremony ,, the Sov . Princes dined together under the
presidency of the M . W . Sov ., at the Central Exchange Hotel ( Bro . Rogersoris ) . After the loyal toasts were proposed , the health of the M . P . Sov . of the Order , Dr . Leeson , and the Sov . I . G-. of the 33 rd Degree was proposed , and drunk with due honour . The M . W . then proposed the health of their senior member , Past Sow Punsheon , which was received with great applause , and duly responded to by the 111 . Bro . Past Sov . Wm . Berkley proposed the health of the M . W . Sov ., thanking him for the labour and attention given up to this time to the higher
Degrees , and wishing him health and prosperity during his secon d year of office . The M . W . responded briefly , saying that he was amply compensated for whatever trouble he had taken , by the satisfaction evinced by the Illustrious Brethren surrounding him . The healths of the following P . Sovs . were proposed , and duly responded to , viz . —W . Dalziel , Wm . Berkley , E . D . Davis , and the Officers . The Illustrious Brethren then separated , highly pleased with the day ' s work .

Thistle Lodge ( No . 3 . )—This Lodge held its regular meeting on Friday , March 5 , at Dick ' s Coffee-house , Meet-street , presided over by Bro . Sheen , R . W . M ., who proceeded to advance Bro . Henry Nicholls to the Degree of Mark Master . The business finished , the Brethren sat down to a well-spread banquet , and the evening passed most pleasantly .

Sir Archibald Alison , Bart , occupied the chair , supported right and left by Bros . John Denchar , of Morningside , of the Grand Lodge of Scotland ; Donald Campbell , S . Prov . G . M . ; the Rev . W . D . Henderson , Prov . G . Chaplain ; David Mitchel , Prov . G ., Sec . ; D . Sutherland , Prov . G ., Treas . ; James Horton , Prov . G . S . D . ; the Rev . Alan Maclean ; Alex . M'Donald , Prov . G . D . ; Charles Stuart
Law , G . S . ; Bros . Barrow and Swan , and the R . W . Bro . Thomas Dry"brough , J . G . D ., Grand Lodge of Scotland . Bro . James Cruickshanks , Prov . G . S . W . , was in his place , supported by Bros . Craig , PL Campbell , Davidson , Lang , & c . ; and Bro . James Craig acted as Prov . G . J . W ., supported by Bros . Winton , Adams , Duncan , & c . The Rev . Bro . W . 1 ) . Henderson , Prov . G ., Chaplain , having implored the divine blessing , supper was served in sumptuous style by Bro . M'Lerie , of St . Mary ' s Buildings , and after it had been discussed , the Prov . G . Chaplain returned thanks .
The Lodge was then opened in due form , and the cloth having been removed , the Brethren were called " from labour to refreshment , " when the Prov . G . M . gave "The Queen and the Craft , " which , as is usual in all assemblies of the " brethren of the mystic tie , " was loyally and enthusiastically responded to .
