It is exceedingly gratifying to find the members of a new Lodge vying with each other in their efforts to promote its prosperity and to acquire a high degree of proficiency in the interesting and instructive ceremonials of Craft Masonry , and we predict that the title which the Brethren have chosen for their Lodge , will not prove a . boastful one .

Folkestone . —Temple Lodge ( No . 816 ) .- — On Monday , March 1 st , the Brethren assembled at the Clarendon Hotel in unusual numbers , to ' mark with becoming respect the elevation of Bro . Hood to the chair . The ceremony of installation having been impressively performed by Bro . Cooke , P . M . of Maidstone , the W . M , appointed the following Officers for the ensuing year : —Bros . Stock ,
P . M . ; Gorham , S . W , ; Pitta way , J . W . ; English , Treas . ; Warrington , Sec . \ Flaherty , S . I ) . ; Baker , J . D . ; Dallen , I . Gr . Under the fostering care of Bro . Hood , and having now a very convenient and suitable Lodge-room , this Lodge will probably soon take that position in the province which the importance of the district in which it is situated would warrant . At the banquet , the healths of the newly installed Master , of the immediate Past Master , of Bro . Tolputt , Prov . G . Org . of Kent , the P . Ms , of the Lodge , Bro . Cooke and the Visitors , & e . were drunk with great cordiality , and a most agreeable evening was spent .

M ., and passed Bro * H . $ mithard to the degree of a B . C ., both ceremonies being performed in a very superior manner . The great progress which this Lodg * e has recently made , as respects both its working and numbers , lead the members to hope that ere long it will rank as one of the best Lodges in the province ; an increased interest having been shown by the more frequent attendance of most of its older members , as well as the anxiety manifested by the younger ones to qualify themselves to fill the highest offices which our ancient and honourable Order can bestow .
