Universal , Estrella Polar , and Yirtud y Union having pronounced on the first days of June , before the date of D . Francisco Quiros' letter , and it is notable that he in his note should omit the Lodge Yirtud y Union , which had declared itself independent , the same as the others . The so-called Grand Orient of Peru , for its basis or pedestal had , on the llth of June , nothing but the Symbolic Lodge Orden y Libertad , and from this numerous members have separated and been incorporated in our Lodges .
It is necessary to call the attention of the Brethren to facts which they are capable of controverting at a distance , but in Peru cannot be denied by anyone that has seen the light . On the 24 th of June , at the feast of pur patron , the members of the so-called Grand Orient , after strenuous efforts for assistance on that day , there did not unite sixty persons . The three independent Lodges celebrated this day in Callao , and although it was impossible for a large number of Brethren to congregate , there were present upwards of one hundred and fifths Brethren who united to celebrate their patron and independence .
In the note of Bro . Quiros , he accuses us of having circulated a paper full of impositions . The manifesto of our Grand Lodge , and the documents therein published will show upon whose part is the imposture , and whose part the justice . He likewise says that the Protestant members can only form rough ashlars . It appears by this that he wishes to prove that those who have declared their independence are nothing more than symbolic Masters . We count to-day in our lists four S . A . I . A . 33 rd , one S . We would likewise add that a number of our absent Brethren hasten from all distances to give their consent and submission to our Grand Lodge .
The Grand Lodge of Hamburg received the same circular from Don Francisco Quiros , but acted Masonically , and with cordial feeling . They have asked for information from their Grand Representative in Peru previous to resolving . Their Representative , the day of our independence , was the W . The G . A . O . T . U . inspired the Bro . Quiros to direct that note to other Lodges for the purpose of breaking the ties of Masonic consideration which has held us so many years in silence ; these ties of prudence having been lacerated and broken by the false imputations in his accusations , he will wait the moment when the Grand"Lodge of Peru will tear their mask and show them to the world in their true light . In the mean time our wish is limited to desire of our Brethren to suspend their verdict until they read our manifesto , and the answer to the aspersions of him who styles himself Grand Master .
