Z ., assisted by the officers of the Chapter , in a manner which called forth the commendation of the visitors , Comps . Dr . Rowe , P . G . Sojourner ; Hinxman , P . Z . No , 324 ; Lewis , No . 30 ; and Nutt , No . 287 . The Chapter was

Purton Cooper , expressed a hope that the Craft might soon have to hail her as the mother of a Mason , and trusted that she might be spared for very many years to become the grandmother of Masons . William Jecks of Union Lodge No . 60 , was exalted to this Sublime Degree ; there were present Sydney William Young , M . E . Z . ; William Wicks , P . Z ., officiated as H . ; Jeremiah Howes , J . ; Henry John Mason , Principal Sojourner ; and several Companions of Union Chapter No , 60 . The first quarterly
convocation of this Chapter was held on Wednesday , March 3 rd , the by-laws and rules as previously proposed were confirmed , after which Bro . Richard Newton Ivos , of Social Lodge No . 110 ; , Norwich , was exalted . Comp . Henry John Mason , P . Prov . G . Steward , was appointed by the M . E . Z . Principal Sojourner for tho ensuing year . The Companions then retired to the banquet-room and spent the evening in social enjoyment .
