INSTEXJCTION . Eobekt Buens Lodge ( No . 25 ) . —This Lodge met on Friday , the 12 th inst ., at Bro . Adams ' s , Union Tavern , Air-street , Piccadilly , Bro . Gladwin , of the parent Lodge taking the chair as W . M ., assisted by Bros . Cauicher , S . W , ;
Thomas Alexander Adams ( P . M . No . 206 ) , J . W . ; Goring , S . D . ; Hop wood , J . D . : Thomas Allen , I . G . ; and W . J . Newton , Sec . Bro . Solomon Abrahams , of Nos . 25 and 223 , offered himself as a candidate for the Second Degree , who was accepted , and the ceremony performed in excellent style . The five sections of the same degree were afterwards worked , and gave great satisfaction to the Brethren . Bro . Newton , Secretary , called the attention of those Brethren recently received into the Order to the advantages which must accrue from a frequent attendance at Lodges of Instruction , consistent with business avocations ,
as it Was only through such instruction that the honours of office could be satisfactorily carried out . He ( Bro . Newton ) was not selfish enough to ask Brethren to put themselves to an inconvenience by coming out of their way to this particular Lodge , but recommended Lodges of Instruction generally , of which there were several in London , and where many P . Ms , of distinction frequently attended for the purpose of improving their less informed Brethren . In conclusion , Bro . Newton said that the fifteen sections entire would be worked on the 19 th of April , and the anniversary banquet of this Lodge would take place on the same day .
St . James ' s Union Lodge ( No . 211 ) . — A- numerous meeting of Brethren took place on Monday evening , the 15 th inst ,, at Bro . Copus s , Swan Tavern , Mountstreet , Grosvenor-square , Bro . Daly presiding as W . M ., supported by Bros . Wait , S . W . ; Thorns , J . W . ; Barnshaw , S . D . ; Simpson , J . D . ; and Copus , I . G . The minutes of the last meeting being read and confirmed , the Lodge was opened , and the fifteen Sections admirably rendered as follows : —First Lecture—1 st Section , by Bro . Matthews ; 2 nd , by Bro . Gunniss ; 3 rd , by Bro . Barnshaw ; 4 th , by Bro . T . Alien ; 5 th , by Bro . Thorns ; 6 th , by Bro . Cook ; and 7 th , by Bro . Suter . Second Lecture— -1 st Section , by Bro . Stacey ; 2 nd , by Bro . Stephen Barton Wilson , J . G . D . ; 3 rd , by Bro . T . Allen ; 4 th , by Bro . Collard ; and 5 th , by Bro . Woodstock .
