TO THE EDITOR OF THE FREEMASONS MAGAZINE AND MASONIC MIBHOE . Sib and Brother , —Permit me , through the medium of your pages , 'to make an explanation which , upon a point of order , I was not enabled to do last evening . As I did not , and do not , intend to provoke or be led into a controversy , I confine myself to a statement of certain facts which any one , who is not utterly wearied of the subject , may verify . MASOKIC REPOETING
to the rejectio 7 i of a part of the report of the Colonial Board he not confirmed . Being infomied that he was in error and could not so move ( and the G-. Sec . having been desired to read from the minute-book the resolution which was there entered
as copied from the written resolution handed in by myself to the chair in September preceding ) , he appeared to rely for his justification upon the report in the Freemasons' Magazine ; but he has not stated that which I desire to state , namely , that such plea would not serve him , inasmuch as the report in the Magazine is correct , and is identical with the motion made by me , and with that entered in the minute-book .

EEPOBTS DURING * THE CERE MONIES . TO THE EDITOR OF THE FREEMASONS * MAGAZINE AND MASONIC MIRROR . Sin and Brother . —In reference to the letter of our medical Brother from South Shields in the Magazine for March 3 rd , you will perhaps like to hear the practice in this province ( Dorset ) when urgent professional messages may chance to be brought , which is this . No report is received , during ceremonies , unless on an alarm of emergency , which is given by repeating the usual notice twice , in quick succession . On this the I . G . reports an alarm of emergency , and then the ceremony is stayed immediately and the cause ascertained .
It appears to me that this course is a very proper one to adopt generally , and that it will remove the difficulty that the Brother complains of . Yours fraternally and obediently , March 5 , 1858 , W , M .
