The Grand Lodge then formed into procession , headed hy the depot band playing a new Masonic march founded on "The Entered Apprentices ¦" . air ( which , from what we heard of it , we predict will become generally used on all Masonic occasions ) , and proceeded to All Saints Church . The Grand Chaplain , the Rev . Bro . 33 atchelor , delivered a most interesting sermon based on the story
of Ebed-nielech , in Jeremiah xxxviii . v . 7 , and xxxvix v . 10 . On leaving the church , the Brethren , mustered on the green , in front of the palace , which , by the kind permission of Lady Prances Riddeh > was placed at their disposal . The procession then returned to the Town Hall , when votes of thanks were passed to the mayor , the Rev . D . D . Stewart , incumbent of All Saints ' , the Graird Chaplain , & c .
The Brethren afterwards adjourned to banquet at the Corn Exchange ^ but owing to the crowded state of our pages , we are compelled to postpone the detailed account of the proceedings to our next number . We may , however , state that , on the wholey we never attended a Grand Lodge festival where the arrangements were better conducted . Maidstone . —Belvidere Lodger .
