James ' s Tavern , Duke-street , Aldgate , when about forty of the Brethren sat down to a tastefully prepared repast .
Bro . Joel Phillips , W . M . No . 223 , presided , and was supported by the following Masters and Past Masters , Bros . Isaacs , P . M . No . 247 ; Cohen , PM . No . 24 : 7 - M . ; W . Morris , W . M . No . 247 ; Saqni , P . M . No . 247 ; Letoman , P . M . No . 78 ; Harris , W . M . No . 218 ; T . Somers , P . M . No . 225 ; Swalie , W . M . Euphrates ; Rev . D . A . De Solla , Chaplain No . 223 . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts had been given and responded to the Brethren separated , shortly after twelve o ' clock ,
highly pleased with the convivial evening they had spent . The pleasure of the evening was much enhanced by the excellent singing of Bro . H . A . Isaacs and several Brethren . The Lodge has now adjourned till the first Sunday in October , whenwehopeit will have as many Brethren attend as usual . Great praise is due to Bro . Henry Solomon , No . 247 , Hon . Sec , tor the efficient manner in which he provided for the comfort of the Brethren .
^ St . Andrew ' s Lodge ( No . 281 ) . —At a meeting of this Lodge , held at the George and Dragon Tavern , Camberwell , on the 25 th instant , present Bro . Ward , as W . M ., assisted by Bros . Thomas Wayse , Rivers , John Coggin , & c , it was proposed , and carried unanimously , " That a vote of thanks should be presented to Bro , Thomas P . M . No . 745 , & c , engrossed on vellum , testifying and appreciating his regular attendance for the benefit of the Brethren , and also the great respect in which he is held . "
