philanthropic character , combining as it did all the attributes of a genuine Ma , son . The motion was received with cheers ^ and promptly responded to by a liberal subscription from the members , and it was then arranged that the testiitionial should consist of a silver Masonic goblet , and snuff box , to be presented to Bro . Onian at th e forthcoming summer festival . All business matters ended , the Brethren adjourned to supper ^ which was well supplied by Bro . Wright .
Domatic Lodge ( No . 206 ) . —An emergency meeting of this Lodge was held on Wednesday evening . May 26 , at Bro . Ireland ' s , Fetter-lane . Bro . James Brett , W ; M . presided . The Lodge was numerously attended . Messrs . Robert Edwards and George Knight were severally initiated into the brotherhood of Freemasonry , after which Bros . Wilcox and Seaton were passed to the 2 nd Degree . Bros . Captain Frost and Henry Thompson ) were then introduced as candidates for the 3 rd Degree , and the sublime ceremony performed by the W . M . in his usual effective and impressive manner . Boon afterwards the business of the
Lodge was brought to a close , the brethren re-assembled for refreshment , and amongst those present at the banquet , were Bros . Adams , P . M . ; Gar rod , P . M . ; Smith , Elrnes , Marshall ; and many others . At the conclusion of the banquet , the W . M . successive gave the toasts , " The Queen , " Ci the Earl of Zetland , " " . The D . G . M . Lord Panm ™^ , '' "The Initiates , " ' " The Visitors / ' and "The Masonic Charities , " which were all duly honoured ; and the evening was spirit in the greatest harmony . It has been arranged that the summer festival of this Lodge " shall take place at Bro . Rackstraw ' s , the Star and Garter , Kew Bridge , on the second Tuesday in July .
St . James' Union Lodge ( No . 211 ) . —An emergency meeting of this Lodge was held on Wednesday , the 26 th ult ., at the Freemasons' Tavern , Bro . Crofton , W . M . in the chair , who was well supported by his officers . Lodge being opened , the following Brethren were introduced , and raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Masons . Bros . Wambald , Nish , Ford ( Christy ' s Minstrels ) , Sedgwick ,
Beane , Jackson , and Smith , each Brother received the Degree separately , and when invested with the badge of W . M . were collectively made acquainted with the workingHools , to which their attention was particularly drawn by the W . M ., whose performance of this beautiful degree was beyond all praise . Bro . Crofton afterwards passed to the 2 nd Degree Bros . Daintree , T . J . Pearse , J . R . Pearse , and Clark . Nine members enrolled themselves as stewards of the intended
summer festival , after which Lodge was closed with solemn prayer , and the Brethren separated . Oak Lodge ( No . 225 ) . —A Lodge of emergency was held at Radley ' s Hotel , New Bridge-street , on Wednesday , the 26 th instant , Bro . C . W . Latham , W . M ., presiding . Bros . John Van Deurs , G . Brady , and Duncan Campbell were raised to the Sublime Degree of M . M ., the ceremony being admirably worked by the
W . M . Bro . M . JI . Shuttleworth , Sec . and P . M ., communicated to the Brethren , who received the melancholy intelligence with deep concern , the untimely death of Bro . J . H . Bolt , who was lost in the African Steam Company ' s ship , the Candia , of which he was commander . Amongst the Brethren present were : —Bros . E . R . Rigby ; J . J . Yon der Heyde , S . and J . W . ; Bailey , Wardrop , Harris , Field , and Bond . The Lodge being closed in due form , the Brethren adjourned to refreshment .
