CANADA , The M . W . G . M . next , in accordance with the promise which he made at the regular quarterly communication , laid before Grand Lodge some further correspondence with Bro * Harington in reference to the Grand Lodge of Canada .

The report of the Colonial Board was then read , and on the motion of Bro , John Harvey , it was received and entered on the minutes . ASYLUM FOR AGED FREEMASON ' S AND THEIR WIDOWS . The report of the committee of the Asylum for Aged Freemasons and their Widows was then read . An abstract appeared in the Freemasons' Magazine of May 26 th , page 985 . The M . W . G . M . inquired if any Brother had any motion to make upon the report . Bro . Harvey said he had only to move that it be received and entered upon the minutes , and he was sorry it had in the reading of it , occupied so much of the time of Grand Lodge , ( Hear , hear . ) Bro . Barrett having seconded the resolution , it was agreed to .
PERSONAL EXPLANATION
The M . W . G . M . said , that before Grand Lodge proceeded to dispose of the notices of motion , he had to offer a few observations explaining why he had summoned the present Grand Lodge . On the last night of their meeting several notices of motion remained undisposed of , and he considered that he , on that account , had been unjustifiably blamed by one Brother , who had stated that , although he had come a distance of a hundred miles to attend Grand Lodge , he had been prevented bringing forward a motion which stood in his name . It was , no doubt , very inconvenient that motions should lie over from Grand Lodge to Grand Lodge , but he might add that he himself was subject to the same inconvenience ; and although he had frequently to come three times the distance mentioned by that Brother , he had never complained .
