Companions was called to a proposition on the minutes that Comp . James Hamer , M . E . Z ., be presented with a full suit of P . Z . clothing and jewel , as a tribute of esteem for his untiring zeal in the cause of Preemasonry in general , and of this Chapter in particular , which was carried unanimously . The clothing will be presented on the next meeting . After the remaining business was completed the Companions adjourned to refreshment . The next meeting wilLbe held September 9 th . /
WOLVBRHAMPTON . —St . Peter ' s Chapter ( No . 607 ) . —A Convocation of the Companions was holden at the Star and Garter , on Tuesday , June 22 nd . The minutes of the last Convocation were read and . confirmed . The Principals were installed , and the other officers invested by Comp . Thomas James , P . Z ., assisted by Comps . J . Wi . Harris ) P . Z . ; and Gr . Casweily P ^ Z . The yisitors present were Comps . Edwards , H . No . 786 ; Davison , P . S . No , 730 . Comp . James tendered his resignation as a rnemher of the Chapter , in consequence of other engagements preventing him attending ; it was received with great regret by the Companions .

LORD LEIGH ' S GRAND LODGE . The half yearly meeting of the Grand Lodge of Mark Masters under the English constitution was held at the Freemasons'Tavern , on Wednesday , the 23 rd instant , Bro . William Jones , P . S . G . W ., occupied the place of the Grand Master who , as well as the Deputy Grand Master , was unavoidably prevented from attending . Bro , Keddell occupied the chair of S . G . W ., and Bro . Barnard that of J . G . W . There were present a goodly assemblage of Grand Officers and Past Grand Officers , and a very fair proportion of the representatives of the Lodges in the Provinces .
In the absence of Bro . Collins , the G . Sec , the minutes of last Grand Lodge ( a report of which will be found at page 1114 of our number published on the 30 th of December last ) were read by Bro . Ridgway , the G . Reg ., and unanimously confirmed . The G . Reg . then reported the progress made by the degree during the past six months , as more particularly exemplified in the increased number of applications for warrants , and alluded also to the highly satisfactory results arising from the exertions of the Grand Master to promote an union of all the English Mark Lodges .
The Treasurer ' s report was read , showing not only a good balance in the hands of the bankers , but a statement of further assets to an extent evidently beyond the expectations of the Brethren present . Bro . Jones , P . S . G . W ., announced that the Grand Master had , since the last Grand Lodge , been pleased to appoint the D . G . M ., Earl Carnarvon , to be Prov . G . M . of the Mark for the Province of Somerset , and Bro . Wm . Kelly to be Prov . G . M . for that of Leicester , adding that his lordship was actuated in making these appointments by the knowledge of the satisfaction with which they would be received in the several Provinces .
